Juventus Football Club is today mourning the loss of former defender Rino Ferrario, who has passed away at the age of 85.
After joining the club from Lucchese in 1950, Ferrario quickly established himself as a tough, uncompromising opponent, aided by his imposing physique.
Having displaced Carlo Parola in defence, he went on to lift the club’s tenth Scudetto in 1952 before departing for stints at Inter and Triestina.
But the black and white stripes were never far from Ferrario’s heart and he made a triumphant return to Turin in 1957, winning the title the following season before celebrating Coppa Italia success in 1959.
