Was quite poor in first half. Lost every ball he received. Wouldn't have if he weren't fat. Would also be able to beat high line offside traps if he weren't.

But holy hell, did he make up for it in second half.

yeah, i think it can't be denied that he was pivotal in us progressing to the quarters. 3 goals and 1 assist were big despite him missing 1 penalty and 1 easyish chance in the first leg. the assist as well as the 2 non penlty goals were very good imo, not easy chances

Imagine how much better he'd be without the dad bod.

yup. if he had the discipline to exercise like Ronaldo, I think he would be at or possibly even ahead of Lewandowski as the best striker (not counting Messi/Ronaldo) in the world
Last time he was fit, he ended up breaking Nordahl's record, was defo better than Lewan, was as good as Suarez. He, Suarez, and Griezmann were the top-3 that season.

Someone assign the man a dietitian.

yeah. he's still not that old. if he really puts his mind to it, can get very fit. i guess its really up to how much he wants it. like Djokovic, the tennis player went on an incredible diet and fitness regime and it helped him finally beat Federer and Nadal for big titles

Higuain: No better place than Juve | Football Italia

Gonzalo Higuain insists “I couldn’t be at a better club” than Juventus as the striker is “very happy to give back how much they give me.”

Higuain took his tally to 21 goals for the season on Wednesday as his equaliser helped Juve beat Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 and subsequently reach the Champions League quarter-finals.

“What did Juve’s comeback take? Soul and character but, above all, heart. We believe in ourselves,” he told Marca.

“We all feel important here and when things go wrong, the team emerge and that’s what happened to Tottenham.

“We were losing, but Juve never give up. We’re still alive in three competitions and we want to win them all. That’s Juve.

“The key? Competing and having the ambition to win because we never forget this badge. Happy? I’m very happy to give back Juve how much they give me.

They work wonders and that’s why I'm happy after the team’s triumphs. I couldn’t be at a better club.

“Goal and assist from Dybala? He’s getting better bit by bit. We need him to be on top of his game, and then the goals will rush back to him and the team.

“He’s had some physical problems, but he’s overcoming them. It’s only a matter of time because he has all the quality in the world.”

How as an Aussie, have I heard of Barney Ronay, and you as an Englishman haven’t? :D he writes such flowery BS most of the time. Stupid metaphors and similes and uses verbiage most people wouldn’t be caught dead using in a real conversation.
He sounds like a paddy tbh, but I don't read the Guardian anyway.

:D

Good thing our top scorer in champions league the past two seasons is looking slim, spry, and focused! 5 goals and 1 assist in 7 starts and 1 sub appearance, he's already equaled his totals from last year's CL in 12 matches. :fap:

Bodes well for the run in of the season!
