I forgot about Reina's fluke save on Matuidi's volley, but you are pushing it with the other two, over hit pass to Higuain where he was on an impossible angle and Benatia skying a volley. In that case Napoli had their fair share of chances. We were lucky to convert our first clear cut chance off a counter and continue the game plan and spend the rest of the match camping in our own box.

Mandzu only scuffed his first shot, the second cross at 100mps hitting his shin, not even Ronaldinho could bring that down.

The Copenhagen match, that's where you could call a team unlucky, our strikers bottling it, although saying the same thing back then was considered an excuse.

I'm not talking about the napoli match btw, yeah Matuidi pretty much played LM in that game. Besides inter, we played a proper mid 3 in a game or two earlier in the season.

I do believe Max favors Khedira, but I didn't know Marchisio said something along those lines. Was it recent or when he first recovered from surgery?

Anyhow, you're basically OK with replacing Mandzu with Matuidi, that's even worse. Could be a one off but Matuidi was dreadful playing that role.
i wasnt even once worried about us losing the lead, except that Insigne shot that went wide in the 2nd half, but that wasnt a good chance either. Higuains missed chance vs Reina is better than either "chance" Napoli had, and thats like the 3rd or 4th best for us.

the 1st surprised him, it flied over the heads of several players, so he had little time to react - it bounced to the keeper. the 2nd one was a very good chance, if he didnt slip. probably would have won us the game.

i dont remember 3 man midfield really, then again, i skipped 3-4 games earlier this season.

Marchisio said after Benevento, his only full game this season, he was surprised he stayed in the game till the end

im OK with a 3 man midfield if it allows us to keep our defensive shape, which Berna at AM with Dybala - Higuain doesent. also, how is it worse? you want to bench Mandzukic for a CM, AND Cuads/Costa for Berna. im OK with Matuidi instead of Mandzukic/Dybala/Higuain, if its required for tactical reasons.

If Marchisio is still a question mark, then not even I would want the switch. I guess we will never fully know until he plays a full match again. Our med team can't tell their ass from their elbow anyway.

I agree we do have a balance in defence with current setup, problem is that it requires us to sit deep, if we pressure higher we are gassed in 2ND half, our possession play is also suspect. (Loved Samis off the ball movement bit BTW) Unless everything is on the line and the opposition chooses to drop ( sportivo away ) we can't force to pin them back for a period of time. Let's hope we'll get something going on that front too.

“What did I think when Higuain celebrated at San Paolo? I can’t say what I said, but I told him a few words in [Neapolitan] dialect and he understood me.

“I was disappointed: he was here for three years but then made the choice that he made. I won’t say anything else.

“He scored in Turin and didn’t celebrate, neither did he in Naples. Instead, he did this season.

“He should’ve had some respect for his former teammates. He claims to be our friend and sends text messages to some of us before the game but then celebrates in our faces? It was a lack of respect.”
Insinge

Oh, he is convinced it’s their year to win the league @Bianconero_Aus

I think he celebrated more in the faces of Napoli fans who thoroughly deserved that
Exactly. Insigne should know that but is an idiot. Higs shouldn’t need to explain anything.

Higuain gave more to Napoli more than they were ever able to give to him. He owes them nothing. Zero. Nada.

Maybe because they keep sending him death threats? Hasn't poor Higgy had to hire armed security since his transfer to Juve because of the Nipples fans?:howler:

That is way beyond the normal dislike over a transfer. Of course he hates them

the only one to blame here is Higgy himself. he lived in that crazy city for 3 years, he knew what he was getting himself into before hand. could have just went to Arsenal or Liverpool, enjoying his paycheck and not have a single worry in the world. silly man
