Of course scoring in Serie A is our issue. Unless we are winning each game by 5 goals then it's our problem. If you don't care about Serie A then that's you. Juventus does care. Yes and No. Serie A alone is not enough; being successful in Europe is far more important for our image, to attract better sponsors and entice the best players to join us. Serie A is not what it used to be, so let's not exaggerate its impact/importance.

Yes it has this impact/importance. Before we started winning Serie A again we could barely attract any players and we couldn't afford to convince with money otherwise. Jovetic, Cuadrado, Alexis, Van Persie, Aguero, Rossi, etc. how many targets were we unable to get? Our budget grew with our success in Serie A. Getting the top spots qualifies us for the all important CL and winning it get us the prestige needed to be the best. If go a long spell without winning Serie A then we lose ground and the CL becomes even more difficult to attain.

If we have a hard time keeping some top players as it is, imagine if we go back to getting irregular results. We need the prestige, name and money that comes with success in our domestic league to build into a club that challenges for europe every season. We are this now, we shouldn't regress.

Neglecting the platform from which we build on is a sure way to becoming unsustainable at a top european level and jeopardizing the consistency of the club.

I'm not saying we should neglect it, but I'm sure winning 2 CL titles in 5 years, and losing a couple of Serie A titles is probably better for us then winning 5 straight Serie A titles. Serie A alone is not enough. Eventually, we are gonna have to relinquish our title (no one keeps winning forever). If we have a competitive league, and perform consistently (at least QF each year), we'll remain an attractive club.

Yes I agree with that. It was a point to respond to the other poster that scoring (and performing) in A is always our issue. 38 games a season played in A and our guys' performance here counts. No one is bought for any one competition in particular. Everyone is bought to perform always.

I don't know if this has came up at all during Gonzalo's bad run at the start of this season but I was listening to ESPNDeportes Radio yesterday and a show called Jorge Ramos y su banda was discussing the SA WC qualifiers. Jorge Ramos started off by saying "a year ago we were discussing and debating who was going to be Argentina's starting 9 between Tevez, Aguero, and Higuain. Now a year later we have Benedetto, Papu, and Icardi as the ones we are discussing because Tevez doesn't play in China, we know what happened to Aguero, and Pipita is out of shape and form. But historically speaking these past few years it has always been Pipita as the starter so one has to assume that once he loses those extra pounds and geta back in form he will be Argentina's striker because the new 3 are not cutting it." Then one of his "inside sources" spoke after that saying "Higuain has always had some extra pounds on him that have never prevented him from scoring and has nothing to do with his bad form. One thing that has been kept quiet is that he had a conversation with Sampaoli and the real reason he is not being called up and is in a bad run of form is because he is having problems in his personal life with his family." So that was really interesting to hear for me as a Juve fan. Interesting to see how Allegri gets the best out of him during all of this.
