I know he has this mental block in Europe that is one of the biggest confidence crisis I've ever seen in a top flight player. Despite having actually scored that decisive goal against Monaco it is.
But I think Higuain is largely underapreciated for what he did last season. We basically take league titles for granted. Higuain was absolutely the main reason why Juve got the last scudetto, he decided tough matches like Roma on his own. No Higuain, no Serie A last season. I firmly believe that.
So in part his signing has already paid off. But yes, we obviously need something different in Europe. I thought Schick could be that guy in some years and was the most exciting signing for me. But Dybala as a CF looks like a viable solution to achieve higher ground on Europe.
That said, I hope Higuain gets more appreciation for his spectacular performance last season - specially in the first half. As long as we keep feeding him, we'll be fine on offense in Serie A.
