As much as i would like to make him a scapegoat because of not scoring in another final, well today it wasnt his fault.
He got practically not a single good pass from midfield. Ronaldo received like 3 chances and he made the best of 2 of them.

Besides the midfield. Alves who had developed a great combination between himself and Higuain, didnt exactly find the assist for Higuain or did he?
Maybe i need to rewatch the game. I only base this on what i saw live. It wasnt like Alves was making those great assist passes in this match, compared to previous.

Isco dropping back and marcelo.with Ramos almost up higgys arse. Defensively they were really really good. Especially Ramos and Marcelo, man Alves was out smarted in everything by Marcelo. It's definitely worth rewatching infact I'm going to do the same with the 2015 final as well but maybe in a few weeks once once I've recovered lol. There is a lot to learn from this. Some mistakes just become a habit by sheer pressure and positioning.

Im not interested to watch 2015 final, too many different players there to analyze anything.

The 2015 and 2017 final games are very different. 2015 we didnt start well, Barca dominated most of the game in terms of ball and possession. We took our chance through brilliant combination, then we had that moment where Tevez could have scored 2-1. Didnt. Then Barca scored, wasnt there like a Stegen save also before in the other end and yeah Barca sort of counter scored it.
This time, we start well, then Real sort of against our momentum score, slight shock but we manage to overcome it, Navas was the much busier keeper, Mario goal and we go HT with the momentum and maybe even regret not going 2-1 to HT. Second half, total collapse. We didnt collapse against Barcelona. And overall we were aware at that time that Barca had the better team. This time we thought its even or Juve even edging cause Real concede every game.

what's next? #believe in time
I think it's pretty simple with Higuain. The reason he doesn't do so well in Europe is because we barely control possession. He is a possession player, he won't stretch the defence with his runs, he isn't that sort of player.
For this reason I think we need to return to a midfield 3 and start to take control over games in Europe.
