He's one of those strikers where you want to give him as little time as possible to overthink what he's going to do, all his best goals come from him being reactive, the chances he misses are invariably when he has 2-3 seconds to confuse himself rather than going with instinct.
This is exactly the problem with Higuain. It's not that he chokes in finals or big games, but that his chance of scoring decrease rapidly with every second he has possession of the ball. It's just that the most notable chances he's missed vs Germany Chile have been 1v1 with the keeper where he has plenty of time to overthink it and screw it all up. See also the attempted lob vs Monaco, compared to the two one-touch chances he buried against them.

I just don't get why people are defending his misses. He does other stuff and contributes to our general gameplay quite well. He also creates space and is involved in the build-up at times. But missing the number of clear chances he has in finals and in knockout games in general just speaks volumes about his inability to deal with pressure. He's a brilliant instinctive finisher, but seems to mess things up whenever he has time and space to think.
Because Higgy shows that no matter how old and out of shape you might look, you can still be the star striker of Juventus. Basically, he keeps the dream alive.

Maybe next season the scouts will pick me up.

Gonzalo Higuain cannot forgive Kamil Glik for stamping on him in Juventus-Monaco. “He never apologised. I’m sorry for him, as he tried to hurt me and failed.”

The ugly incident occurred during the Champions League semi-final, when former Torino captain Glik trod on Pipita’s leg.

“I have no words for that foul,” Higuain told the Corriere dello Sport.

“It was senseless, done for no reason and with absolutely no dignity. The whole world saw what he did and he didn’t even have the honesty in that moment, or after the match, to come over and apologise.

“I’m sorry for him, as he tried to hurt me and failed.”

“I am transparent. If I am happy, you can tell from my face. If I am unhappy, you can see it. I don’t like being two-faced, as both would be fake, so I express everything I am feeling.

“Football is great, but life and health come first. If someone is unhappy within themselves, in football or in life, it’ll probably go badly. I do what my mother told me to: do everything with the maximum passion.

“We are not robots. We have a heart, eyes, a nose, ears, a family, friends, the same right to enjoy life as anyone else, but obviously with the responsibility of playing football.

“Life goes by so fast, you need to do what makes you happy, always.”

i never thought that it might be even remotely possible, but there you go, mandzukic is my mvp.

most unlikely mvp ever, i guess. considering the squad we have, he wasn't even considered as a starter before allegri changed the formation and the way we play.

how do you make a MVP of the year video if the season isnt over yet? we dont even have a MVP of the month for May video yet

btw, Dani Alves is my MVP
Yeah, it's too early to proclaim him MVP of the season. But it will be Pipita when he scores a brace against Real Madrid with 2 Dani Alves assists.
