People keep saying we haven't had a striker like that in along time when tevez was here in 2015.

Not sure if trolling or..

Tevez was an SS and he wasnt that good at scoring chances anyways. Used to miss a lot of easy goals. His lots of goals came mostly because of his perseverance and potent shot.

Higuain on the other hand is the epitome of a finisher. Uses both legs, has good technique and he only needs ONE or 2 chances at most to score a goal. Doesnt matter the angle... just put the ball in the area and he will find a solution.

This

Tevez was a sight to behold in 14/15 and set the bar incredibly high for any striker to come. If Higuain wants to trump Tevez he will have to score some goals in CL KO games.

Tevez was king
But he was not an specialized finisher like Higuain is. Tevez was an SS and Higuain is a prima punta. Tevez was a beast overall like u said, while Higuain is simply unforgiving inside the keeper´s area. Different playstyles but each excels in what they do.

I dont know why u are comparing both....apart of both being awesome fukers.

Always preferred Tevez as a player, love his style. And his 14/15 season with us was legendary. If only we won the Tripletta :sigh:

Higuain is probably a better finisher though.
If only we got the penalty on Labile, Tevez would have scored and Max, like a real italian, would have closed down the game and Carlos would go down as a legend. He gave it his 120% that year, a shame we couldn't win when we were so close

He's definitely a better finisher, but that is sometimes an underrated part of Tevez's game. He scores goals that Higuain couldn't, and does work that he couldn't do, but that instinct and ability for all different types of finishes is not very common. Weird how Higuain turned into this kind of classic #9. He's not useless as a build up player, far from it, but in those earlier days he was more involved further away from goal.

If you look at the seasons in Europe Higuain has had where he has played more than 40 games he has scored more than 20 goals in 6/7 of them, and this will be 7/8. In his final year in Madrid he scored 18. For them he was a 1 in 2 scorer in a team where he initially shared the responsibility with Raúl and then also Van Nistelrooy, and then with the ridiculous Ronaldo and also Benzema.

As the main man for Napoli and so far with Juve he's been a 1 in 1.5 scorer. He's also a 1 in 2 international scorer, which is as good as any current player (including the likes of Messi, Ronaldo, Suarez and Lewandowski).
