Higuain on Totti, treble and Del Piero
By Football Italia staff
New Juventus signing Gonzalo Higuain has refused to respond to comments by Francesco Totti that modern footballers only chase money.
The Roma talisman has spent his entire career with the Giallorossi but earlier this week criticised the 'nomads’ who 'follow money and not their hearts.’
Totti’s comments were made in response to being questioned about the Bianconeri’s big money transfer activity this summer, which has seen both Miralem Pjanic and Higuain join the Old Lady from direct Serie A rivals.
“I don’t need to respond to him,” Higuain said at a Press conference today. “I’ve made my decision and am happy to have made it. I have nothing else to say.”
The 28-year-old also discussed the possibility of Juve winning the treble this season, as well as some of his new team mates.
“We need to work for that [the treble]. It won’t be easy but we’ll do everything we can to get it.
“I have played with Dybala in two matches for the national team. I’ve spoken to him and we have a good relationship.
“Juventus’ defence is extremely strong. I thank Chiellini for the message [of welcome].”
Finally, Higuain revealed the Juventus legend he most admires.
“When I was at Madrid I admired Del Piero. For me he is a great source of inspiration. I watched Juve just to see him.” @Azzurri7
