The biggest problem is that there are no other strikers (under 28) on the market who are reachable. For example Harry Kane is a good player, but he will never leave Tottenham, same for Lukaku etc.

Morata is indeed not a leader, but maybe we can use Mandzukic as a striker and Morata as back-up?

Other options: Timo Werner (Leipzig), Martial (United, he isn't a starter but would cost us 70+m), Moussa Dembele (Celtic) and I see something in Cutrone, but it may be too early.
well we don't necessarily need a striker to bang in 30 goals a year, we can return to the organisation we had before Higuain, where the team wasn't functioning to set-up chances for one person, Dybala certainly functioned better without a CF that needs to be served.

if Sanchez really is going to City, I'd monitor the Aguero situation there, Cavani might leave PSG in the summer, Belotti isn't having a good season, but I still believe in his potential, eventually Griezmann will be leaving Atletico..

How often have you watched Martial and Dembele?

Honestly, nowhere near Higuain level. Dembele isn't even the best striker in a woeful Scottish league.

Why anyway would a top tier Euro team really want to concentrate their focus on setting up one individual player to score goals? They wouldn't unless that player is the quality finisher that is Gonzalo Hiagain. Poor MrFatty isn't getting set up properly enough.

Of course he isnt set up the way he was at Napoli, but his arrival has pushed Dybala and Mandzukic quite far from goal, we don't necessarily have to replace him with a 30 goals per season striker, could be replaced by simply playing Dybala as striker again

CL playoff exit
EL Ro.32 exit
Coppa QF exit
Blew a 12 pt lead in Serie A

That kind of season?
33 goals in 31 games Zizinho. It was expected that when he has the quality players needed around him, he would be even better. I have criticised our management in the past, but I can see why they may have erred here.

Higuain is a very good player, but he's not the type of player you build your offense around. TBH, I don't think he's worth making all those sacrifices for due to his inconsistency and track record of choking in big moments.

I honestly don't think anyone here was against the transfer but about the price tag

But those goals didn't translate into the teams success, that's what I'm saying. Our management should have known that no team has ever won anything significant with Higuain leading the line as the main striker. Not Real. Not Napoli. Not Argentina. Not sure about River, but that was more than a decade ago. There is better ways to spend 90M definitely, BL and L1 are full of cheap talent
