a lot of incorrect stats.
Lets not fucking bullshit like this shall we. I got everything i wrote down straigth from whoscored, so those stats are exactly correct. But you can always try to list them in a different way.
i already wrote about Cavanis stats, which are 38 goals and 8 assists. if you spread them out through competitions it looks like this:
Serie A - 29 goals, 5 assists in 34 games or 2981 minutes - a goal/assist every 87.7 minutes
Coppa - 1 goal in 1 game or 90 minutes - a goal every 90 minutes
SC - 1 goal in 1 game or 120 minutes (extratime) - a goal every 120 minutes
EL - 7 goals, 3 assists in 7 games or 462 minutes - a goal/assist every 46.2 minutes
Total - 38 goals, 8 assists in 43 games or 3683 minutes - a goal/assist every 80.1 minutes
Higuain this season:
Serie A - 36 goals, 3 assists in 35 games or 2974 minutes - a goal/assist every 76.3 minutes
Coppa - 1 assist in 2 games or 90 minutes - an assist every 90 minutes
EL - 2 goals in 5 games or 223 minutes - a goal every 111.5 minutes
Total - 38 goals, 4 assists in 42 games or 3287 minutes - a goal or assist every 78.3 minutes
i'm not sure where you got your stats from, as they are clearly wrong. Based mine on whoscored, which is widely considered the most correct database for stats per minute.
pretty similar goal/assist per minute ratio, difference is Cavani played in the worse team. he was carrying a weaker Napoli team to a 2nd place finish. yes weaker, MDS back then is not better than current Reina, and neither was the defense (conceded 32 goals this season, 36 in 2013). Campagnaro was sold to inter because he was bad, Cannavaro lol, Britos was benched once Albiol and Koulibaly came. both midfields had in form Hamsiks, Allan and Jorginho are obviously better than Inler and Behrami. key difference is Higuain is being partnered by a 12 goals, 10 assists Insigne on one side and a 7 goals, 7 assists Callejon. Cavani played next to an old and declining Pandev mostly (6 goals 8 assists that season). so not sure what makes you think Napoli was stronger back then than right now.
There really is no debate over the quality of napoli's two teams. Cavani's team+lavezzi went on a rampage in europe and put Bayern City and villareal to shame, and still had a significant team the year after. That 5-3-2/3-5-2 was simply excellent, and much better then the team today, who never repeated such heights despite having Higuain up front, sided by players who mostly shine on the counterattack.
It really shone, when they went on an EL rampage the year after, extremely boosting cavani's stats that final season.
Higuain was doing better then cavani in the CL, but he had an inferior team all the way. This season he was fantastic in italy, and napoli absolutely trew the towel in europe. And this was with Higuain banned for a few games aswel, while in prime form, as he would have gone close to 40 goals or beyond if he had not been banned.
I cant believe you are dissing that 3-5-2 that was so fantasic in europe. [/QUOTE]
even if Higuain is the better finisher, which you seem to think we need at any cost, Cavani is the better overall player and when in his best form, id easily take him over Pipita. especially since he would be significantly cheaper.
Cavani is a more complete player. If you would put points on all ability, he'd score higher then Higuain offcourse, but look at when they shine :
Cavani is best when you play him as a lone central forward. He needs space to operate in, and i find that at uruguay its not working the best it can.
Higuain is more of a pure finisher, and needs players to do the creating, but he's a much better finisher, ergo why his stats suddenly racked up when napoli improved their creative quality.
But we are comparing Cavani of 3 seasons ago, to current higuain ???
Cavani has had 3 seasons of an inferior role with alot less goals and more assists in a weak competition.
Higuain has scored those insane numbers this season, in defensive focussed serie a.
Thats the big difference here. One guy is in the form of his life and scoring record amounts of goals. The other was scoring a high amount 3 seasons ago, but spend 3 years in an inferior league.
Obviously our board will easily pick Higuain over Cavani. Hence, Higuain wants to come here and his agent is pushing big time for it. Does Cavani even want to leave PSG , aside from contract issues which seems like a second main sport over there...

im hearing that he doesent want to renew his contract and that we have an agreement with the player ( @Valerio. can confirm, not sure where he heard/read it ).
im not gonna say anything but if PSG signs a top CF we could start fapping
yes, and Bonucci will go to PSG
o wait, new improved contract !
its July, its improved contract month. Cavani isng going anywere

if what Valerio is saying is true, that we have an agreement with the player (no idea what his sources are), and if what the media reported few times is also true, that he wont renew his contract, anything could happen. i wont raise my hopes up obviously, all im saying is if they sign a top CF, and that might or might not happen, that means Cavani could be asking for a transfer
We have heard this story about 'having an agreement with the player' for 5 seasons now, only to see said player sign elseware for twice the wages.
Unless the player, agent or manager says anything about it, there is nothing.
Example, Higuain's agent said he wants to fucking leave the place and isnt comming back while beeing in contact with us
