i wouldn't be so disappointed if we lose out on Higuain if we get Tevez. At the same time you can't say that Gomez is better for us than Tevez, that is definitely no longer the case now we have llorente. We have to keep in mind that we need to look for a player who would best fit with Llorente, assuming that he was brought in as a starter, and not a player who will bench Llorente, and for that reason Tevez is the best fit imo
I've already said in the Tevez thread how much I don't want him here because of his attitude and being a mercenary, however ignoring that I know that Gomez and Llorente are similar players but it doesn't always need to be a 'big man, small man' combo upfront, clubs can be successful with two big men or two little men upfront. However if we go with the traditional idea how do you feel about getting Hernandez and would you have him over Tevez?

it doesn't have to be 1 man 1 little man combo, my point is that our front line is our first line of defence, and i can't honestly see someone like gomez closing down defenders each time to win the ball, or even work in partnership with llorente as it would seriously lack mobility up front, if we were to play 4-3-3 with Gomez as the striker i can understand that but we're not going to as long as llorente is considered as a starter. I don't buy this whole tevez and his attitude excuse, that would be like saying you would say no to Suarez and Ibrahimovic too for the same reasons if they were available and to deny that opportunity would be as foolish as denying the opportunity to sign Tevez. Hernandez? yeah i like him but again i don't think he would combine as well with llorente as tevez would, personally i think hernandez is a player of exceptional quality who can create space for himself in the box and finish chances.

Well you'll have to call me foolish then as I would refuse to sign Suarez and Ibrahimovic for those reasons. For me the players representing the club need to be more than just players but the right characters, players that knows what it means to play for Juventus and respect the tradition, maybe I'm being too sentimental but isn't it nice when people throw up the argument about 'no loyalty in football' to have Del Piero, Buffon, Nedved and Trezeguet as reference. I want to be proud of the players that are wearing the shirt, yes I don't doubt that Ibrahimovic, Suarez and Tevez would all be good players for us and would provide us with results but I would know that each week when they step out onto the field they would be likely thinking of their paychecks first, and team second, not really giving a damn about the prestige and honour at playing for Juventus and for some people that's ok who have grown cynical of footballers, which I can understand but I'm just not like that.

Also Hernandez I think would be excellent at closing down defenders and Llorente would be able to supply him with chances think that could be a good potential partnership.

if you think about it hernandez will be a perfect for juve. he is quick and agile and he can finish the ball off or support llorente. i think he will be better than higuain. hernandez is only 25.
