The official list will come out tomorrow, but an Italian journalist has already obtained the list with the 50 players nominated, from which the 52 European coaches will vote.

The country with most players is Italy with 15 players (9 Italian players + 6 foreigners); Spain followins with 14 players.

Something which is a nice surprise (because he was not expected to make the top 50 list) is Zambrotta! Yes our express train has been nominated.

Come on Nedved, you're the best :)

I just have a feeling that Maldini would win.

BUT since the Pope didn't get the Noble Prize this year I guess anything could happen. :D

We know Nedved is the best one so......GOOD LUCK!!:thumb:

The journalist only mentioned the players (italian and foreigners) that play in Italy). Didn't really read the names, just saw the list andn oticed Zambrotta's name.

Well I hope for Buffon and Nedved both getting a top 3 position with the later winning the award. I would also want Zambrotta to get at least top 10 so people outside of Italy can recognise his amazing abilities.

I don't think, that Maldini had a so great year, that he would deserve the Golden Ball. OK, he won the CL with his team, but he didn't do anything special, just played on the same level as usual. If he gots the award, they would give him, because of his career, not because of his last year achievement. So I think Nedved deserves is the best, he was excellent during the last season!

    Forza Neddy! :strong:

Along sprint that it will carry to the allocation of the Football of Gold 2003 finally it has left. The French salary "France Football", than every year assigns the prize to the better militant soccer player in Europe, in fact has circulated the directory of the 50 players candidates to the prestigious acknowledgment.

And the splendid vintage year lived from the players of the Juventus - vincitori of a badge and Italian Supercoppa, finalists in Champions League, without to forget the contribution to the national ones engaged in the qualifications to Euro 2004? it is not last unnoticed.

They are very the 6 boys of Marcello Lippi in lists. Draft of Alexander Of the Piero, Pavel Nedved, Gianluigi Buffon, David Trezeguet, Lilian Thuram and Gianluca Zambrotta.

Six on 50, one medium shocking that only the Real Madrid, eliminated just from the bianconeri in the semiend of Champions League, has known to make introducing 8 candidates better (between which the former Zidane that just with the Juventus has obtained the prize in 1998). The mainly representative nations are Italy and France with 9. Beyond to Of the Piero, Buffon and Zambrotta, the blueta in race are Totti, Vieri, Maldini, Toldo, Inzaghi and Nesta.

why? maldini is a defender therefore he doesn't have a possibility to do something like nedved did. i want nedved to win it. but maldini deserves it as well. for his career. i'd vote for maldini. 2nd would be buffon, 3rd - nedved.

    My thoughts :

Nedved should get it. No one deserves it more - not even Maldini.

what the hell are Beckham, Kluivert, Mutu, Salgado, Trezeguet and Wiltord doing on that list ?

Beckham wasn't all that great last season.

    Kluivert was crap.

Mutu was at Parma and although he played well, he wasn't a revelation.

Salgado was his usual waste-of-space diving self.

    Trezeguet had a terrible season.

anyway... its not like any of them are gonna win it anyway.

when its all said and done i think it comes down to Nedved, Raul, Maldini, Nistelrooy, Buffon and Zidane.

and out of those, Nedved was by far the best. Remember the golden ball is to award the player of season and not what you have done in your career. So I don't understand why Maldini should get it.

Yeap.. and exactly because of that i fear maldini. This will be the last chance for him to get this trophy.

But Neved deserves to win over everybody with no doubt,,,,m as he had and is hving the best season over all. That cant be questioned.

yes he did have more of an impact on the team than Buffon.

Nedved got Juve out of trouble so many times. Buffon was brilliant too, but Nedved was and is the heart of Juve currently.

without buffon we would've lost out on play-offs.
nedved had poor games. buffon was quite brilliant thoughout all year. maybe he did mistakes but he saved our asses many more times.

either way as long as a Juve player wins it its all good :D

but Buffon already got one award earlier this season, so im hoping Nedved gets this one.
