Which is more important to demolish 6 opponents and then lose in the final or to win 1-0:s against all opponents and lift a trophy?
The latter of course. That doesn't mean that Milito is better, where has he been this season? Is his overall contribution to his team as big as Messi's? Its hard to watch Messi destroying teams in a way we haven't seen in years, week in week out and say that Milito is better than him because he scored in a final.

Last season Milito was more decisive than Messi in all competitions and that all what matters. And to be honest, I have no energy to argue anymore, this is how I see it and that's about it. I don't care about a fucking midget destroying Malaga, Deportivo and the likes even if he does it 7 times a week. Where was Messi when it mattered most? And the win over the outstanding Mourinho's Real means absolutely nothing as the season has not ended yet.

Let's face it. There is a pony show element. I can't tell you how many times I laughed my ass off following Portugal in the WC seeing Ronaldo get player of the match each time when he did jack squat. :sergio:

In that case Messi shouldn't have made the top 3.

Thats ridiculous, he is more consistent than any other player, and his performances week in week out are better than any other player. He doesn't need stats to make the top 3. Stats are just a way to support his already amazing performances.

I strongly doubt that if a Juve player scored more CL goals than anyone else, scored 34 league goals in a single season, destroyed one of the EPL top 3 clubs by scoring a super hatrick, destroyed the league rival twice, all while scoring ridiculously amazing solo goals that nobody else can do, i strongly doubt that after doing all that you'd be debating if he was a top 3 player just because he had a poor quarter final game in a WC, and a poor couple of games in the semi's.

Personally, I think big game performance and general consistency are important.

Realistically it's a popularity contest, which is why I could care less about who wins.
Thats exactly what this whole thing is.

The world cup man of the match awards were indeed ridiculous, just like any other FIFA award out there.

If he was a Juve player he wouldn't have made the top 20 at all.

"if i didnt see it it didnt happen" :sergio: forlan was the player with the most impact this past year, lets see xavi put atl madrid or uruguay on his back
I saw it. Xavi is the key player for Barca, too, so I don't know what you're talking about here.

To comfort you, I'll say Forlan deserves to be there more than Iniesta. That's for sure.

You're exaggerating here, but with the state of Italian football right now, he might not have made the top 3 :D

Still, you guys would all have unanimously agreed that he deserved to be in the top 3.
