Surely they couldn't afford both.
They have a nett maximum spend of €40m

Their purchase of Alexis Sanchez for €39m will be met in instalments. Not unlike how we paid Ajax for Ibrahimovic in 2004.

So, all the transfer fee will not be leaving the club this summer on this deal.

Secondly, there are several options open to them to minimise nett outflows - principally from player sales proceeds - which they are working on.

Clearly Bojan is a probable €11m injection of funding from AS Roma. Whilst ROSSI now seems a lost cause for the Catalans, they will now intensify their activity elsewhere. That may involve David Villa leaving the club.

:agree:

they have a limited budget this summer and cannot afford both, unless Afellay is sold for around 20-25 mil
Never going to happen.

Sport.es: Alexis Sanchez will join "Barcelona" for 39 million euros

this mean that rossi WILL NOT join barca
Really crazy money they're getting him for. Anyway, I maintain that Juventus should get Rossi instead of wasting time on Kun.

Do you maintain that because you believe Rossi is the superior player, or because he is easier to acquire? I would rather pay an extra 15M for a game changer, then splash 30M+ on a solid, if unspectacular player.

Aguero is clearly the better player in every aspect, and can potentially elevate this team. The only way I can see anyone rate Rossi higher is if they have unlimited Italian bias!

"wasting time" on someone that Juventus will not spend €45m on, so will not purchase. Rossi is easier to get.

We have to try though. The fans want champions! We are far behind Inter and Milan, and most definitely need to splash the cash as a signal of intent, a true desire to get back to our glorious ways. Roma and Napoli are also likely to be more competitive next year. I'm afraid if we take the safer option yet again, we will once again come to regret it, and be left empty handed.

I just have this feeling that Rossi will be our new top signing. Aguero just won't happen while Sanchez will go to Barca which would leave Rossi to us.

Brilliant.

How do you know we won't spend that on him? I don't think trying to get one of the worlds best player is wasting time. At least we are trying to be ambitious here.
I'll puke if he is our big +25m euro signing.
You won't be the only one. Seeing Sanchez leave Italy, Pastore out of reach financially and Aguero not coming I would be very bitter.

For the love of God, I would hope at least we try and turn our attention to Hazard and at least fix one of our other positions long term.
