He's very close to the team, also i remember reading something like Quag saying that he think we have enough strikers, so it could be true.
You know how much shit I hear from people that "are close" to the team.

I can't see this happening.

SS: Del Piero, Quagliarella, Rossi

CF: Matri, Toni, Iaquinta

6 strikers. I believe they’re gonna be 5 at the end of the market. Probably Iaquinta will leave.

Old, not quite the finisher, inconsistent, injury prone and not more Italian, or fresh buy, than the rest of our forwards, he is the first candidate to go, but i m certain that Marotta will have a hard time at selling him and Amauri...

Seems likely that will be our FW lineup. I'm sure we intended to sell Iaquinta but it will probably not go through.

Can't get rid of Toni either because of that fat paycheck he gets.

If I am not mistaken Iaquinta is in his last season for Juventus, in the worst case scenario we could loan him to some Serie A team and pay part of his wages.

I don't get it why did Secco offer 5 year contracts to some of the players he bought in 2007.

You offer more than 4 years to a youngster or a superstar, but how the hell did Almiron, Iaquinta, Tiago and Grygera got 5 year contracts? :sergio:

To entice them into joining amidst serious competition for their signatures, of course!
Yeah :D

And seriously, I understand our situation after Calciopoli. It wasn't easy to attract players, but lets be honest...except Tiago perhaps, all the other would have been attracted easily.
5 years contract was silly. Those weren't players one wants to tie down to the club and they were all in their late 20's (Almiron was 27, Iaquinta 28, Tiago 26 and Grygera was 27) so it was clear that after 2-3 seasons it will be hard to sell them as 30 year olds. Then there was the risk that they'll do bad and we won't be able to sell them due to their high wages (unfortunately that's exactly what happened).

Nothing justified offering them 5 year contracts.

As learned from TuttoMercatoWeb, tomorrow the player's agent Federico Pastorello will fly to Spain to speak again after a week even more closely with Villarreal and Juventus striker National.
