I think they should look at Cassano as an option again. He would be inexpensive and we could offer him a more consistent role than Milan.

He is of course not a player to build the team around for the future but with him I think we would have enough depth up front to spend the rest of the money on other areas.
See, now this makes a lot of sense. He will be a lot cheaper, is still in his prime, and can help for the immmediate future and next season as well.

Yes, i am willing to gamble on it. His injury was an anomaly, not a regular occurence.

Take the money and spend it on other areas.
If we do end up with only Quag and Matri as our strikers next season, I'm coming after you if they get injured and we start falling down the table. :p

Did we go after Cassano when he became a free agent?

Or did he get into a fight with Marotta back at Samp...
I think they backed off because of the fight that Cassano had last year.

Which is just a stupid reason to do so.

They could have had him at a bargain.

Even if he doesn't behave it wouldn't be a big investment so I don't see what the problem is. Maybe we could swap him for Amauri or something.

I don't know if Milan want him but there is motivation to switch for both players.

Marotta didn't want to piss off Garrone with getting both Cassano in January and then Pazzini in summer. But Garrone screwed his plans and sold Pazzo in January :D

Why would Cassano want to leave? Because he's not a starter?
