well, i'm getting more and more comfortable with the (probable) signing of Iaquinta. He's italian after all.

My biggest fear remains palladino though :(
I'm not criticising Iaquinta, I'm just reminding the folks around that he is still a world champion :D Seriously, I think he'll be a good addition but as a backup not as a regular starter, I think.

As for Palladino, I think he won't warm the bench, he'll be Del Piero's substitute; he'll play a lot.

He is! i have him in my FM07 squad and he was voted most best youngster in his first season (i know there is not much of a correlation whatsoever but who cares) :faq1:
well, mine is Alexandre Pato...he's the one to replace Del Piero after he retired(in the game of coz). Pato was voted young player of the year and best foreign player of the year in 1st year joining Juventus from brazil;s internacional and was selected into Brazil squad..:weee:
Nani as great too, but i am sticking with Ribery and Nasri..hehe..

He better go to Parma .

that would be good for Rossi and Parma .

i don't want him in Juve shirt , that would be silly if we got him .

loan out Giovinco and buy Rossi .

Parma bid for Rossi

Parma President Tommaso Ghirardi has revealed that the Ducali have made a bid for Manchester United’s Azzurrini starlet Giuseppe Rossi.

The American-born marksman developed in Parma’s youth system before joining the Old Trafford outfit and returning last season on loan.

Rossi shone in his spell at the Stadio Tardini with nine crucial goals in 19 outings and Ghirardi is hoping he may return on a permanent basis.

“Two days ago we spoke to the Manchester United directors and they told us that Rossi was for sale,” he revealed. “We made an offer and we’re waiting for a reply.

“Signing Rossi would be an excellent move that would be perfectly in keeping with the ethos of the club.”

It is believed that Rossi’s future may depend on whether or not the English champions complete the signing of West Ham’s Carlos Tevez.

Ghirardi’s comments came at the unveiling of Parma’s summer signings, including Reginaldo who signed from Fiorentina on Thursday.

The Brazilian hitman’s arrival was overshadowed not only by talk of Rossi, but also by the Parmigiani chief’s comments about the David Di Michele transfer saga.

The Roman striker had looked all set to join Parma before making a last minute U-turn and signing for Torino.

“Palermo conducted themselves correctly, but the agent didn’t,” he explained.

“We never said that the deal was done, but we had an agreement with the player before the agent changed his mind.”

Palla isnt that young player anymore. I think he has reached a crossroad whereby he either makes it at the top level or he won't - at least playing consistent minute for a big club like Juve. My guess is Palla is good enough to be a rotational player, probably doesnt have enough to start on a regular basis. He has shown some pretty footwork playing for Azzurrini, technically very gifted, but until he can bring more actually goods on a regular basis, he won't be starting for Juve. If anything players like Giovinco should be loaned out to give him regular playing time so that he can express his talent and develop.

Rossi is a good player. He is capable of scoring 16-17 goals in Serie A. He might not look pretty, but he gets things done. He reminds me of Sampdoria's young Vincenzo Montella. If Parma snaps him up at 7m sterling pound, I suspect that could turn out to be a deal of the summer in the future. Though Juve ATM isnt a right team for him.

Would generally agree.

Palladino will need to impress this season to stay. I think his ability may be better suited to playing attacking midfield or on the wing rather than as a striker because he doesn't seem to be a goal scorer.

Rossi is a good player but is still unproven so £7m is a lot for him and is a big gamble that may or may not come off.

Its hard to judge player by watching videos of U-23 matches, since tactics are different to club level, but I too sensed that Palladino might struggle for goal at the highest level. Using him as AM is definetely option, but I wonder how good his vision and passing would be to make him effective there.

7m sterling pound is a lot. But I think it is good value for money given some of the outrageous sum spent on other youngsters. Rossi seems to be a bit underrated. You can see he will score goals at all levels and his record at Serie A last year was excellent. The deal will be good for both sides. However, if I was Parma, I might feel a bit sick for paying that sum given he was let go for virtually free. I think FIFA has to step in see how EPL teams are pirating the entire Europe taking away finest crops for nothing and potentially discouraging teams from developing talents. Given England's inability to win any meaningful international competition, I guess making rival's future bad isnt bad tactics at all.

i would love it if we signed rossi, he has shone with the azzurrini and IMO is better than palladino, although palladino also has the potential to be great. im sure he would like to join juve over parma and play under ranieri again. i just dont think we should be paying too much for him though

Milan is willing to offer 11mln for Rossi according to tuttomercato.

And Roma also want this guy...

Have you seen him play in Juve jersey likeeee.....EVER?

DD tried him on the wing....waste of talent.

When he played as a striker either first one or supporting one...he has shown good movement in the field, more than average composure and superb ball control in the box. Either he'll be Del Piero's successor or he'll end up in Udinese or sth.....

But IMO,it would be a waste of talent to let him go...

I have watched him on many occasions and, as talented as he is, he doesn't look like a goalscorer or a goal creater to me. I would merely suggest that while he is still developing he should be used wide or as a deep forward.

Viola join Rossi race

Fiorentina officials are in England to table a bid for Manchester United’s Azzurrini starlet Giuseppe Rossi, according to Italian Press reports.

Since selling Luca Toni to Bayern Munich for £7.5m, the Viola have been searching for a new high-profile hitman before the new campaign gets underway.

Rossi has become a wanted man since spending an impressive spell on loan to Parma last season and a bidding war is set to begin.

The Ducali have expressed their intention to bring the USA-born marksman back to the Stadio Tardini, but Milan are also interested and now it seems the Tuscans are ready to invest heavily in the 20-year-old.

Fiorentina sporting director Pantaleo Corvino is reportedly ready to offer £8m with Rossi netting around £800,000 per season as a starting salary.

Manchester United have set £10m as their asking price, but are likely to accept the Gigliati’s proposal as it is thought to dwarf Parma’s effort while Milan are yet to make any approach.

Premiership - Transfer talk: Parma want reject Rossi

Manchester United 'ace' Giuseppe Rossi could be on his way out of Old Trafford after his agent confirmed that Parma have made a bid for the American-born Italian to make his loan deal permanent.

His agent Andrea Pastorello confirmed that: "I think with an offer of 10-12 million euros (£6.7-8.1m), Manchester United could be tempted to let Rossi leave." Porto have also positioned themselves a distant third for the striker's services.

Rossi's last goal in England was last September during a loan spell at Newcastle, when he scored against Portsmouth in fringe-player purgatory, better known as the Carling Cup.

Despite this accounting for 50% of his total goals in first-team British football, it would be unfair to label the talented 20-year-old a flop in the Grabbi or Silenzi mould. He has averaged a goal every other game during his season in Serie A, but Alex Ferguson needs to make room for Carlos Tevez somewhere, assuming all the red tape over the Argentinian's move can be cut through.

The next Italian for Premiership fans to cast their beady eyes over will be Reggina's Rolando Bianchi, who is expected to sign for Sven's Manchester City today.

Chelsea winger Arjen Robben's ability to change direction in the blink of an eye is not only reserved for his jinking runs that turn full-backs' shirts back-to-front, he's adept at doing it when it comes to contracts too.

After his spectacular u-turn when he joined Chelsea after apparently signing for Manchester United, he's now managed to say that he is happy at Stamford Bridge and that he may leave in the same breath.

His assertion that "I'm happy where I am now. I will start he season as a Chelsea player," was instantly followed up with: "I do not know if I will sign a new contract. Negotiations have not gone well." Transfer Talk is still trying to work out how contract talks that include a £100,000 weekly wage can go badly.

Arsenal look to have acted very shrewdly in the transfer market again, as they may offset their £6 million sterling footprint for Bakary Sagna by planting Freddie Ljungberg at Fiorentina for just a shade less at £5.5 million. William Gallas may criticise Arsene Wenger's transfer policy, but you can't deny the man's book-keeping skills.

Meanwhile Spurs are after Hertha Berlin's self-styled 'Ghetto Kid' Kevin-Prince Boateng, allowing them to offload Hossam Ghaly's toothless grin, styled by Noe Pamarot's boot, to Birmingham.

Portsmouth expect to sign David Nugent today, Liverpool have made an improved £5m bid for Yossi Benayoun, Wigan have emerged as favourites for Marlon Harewood's signature and Bolton have signed Xabi Alonso's brother Mikel on loan.
