Matty Hanniver is moving from Cambridgeshire to Saudi Arabia to work for Juventus
Matt Clements, the Cambridgeshire club’s current manager says the team are moving in the right direction and Juve’s poaching is a complement to his coaching team considering the Serie A side are one of the biggest in the world.
Hanniver’s final game with St Neots was Saturday’s 2-1 FA Cup victory over Bishop’s Stortford. It meant his former side qualified for a second qualifying round fixture at home to Midlands Premier side Romulus.
The Saints have replaced him with former Bedford Town and St Ives Town number two Jack Cassidy.
Clements spoke to Cambridgeshire Live and said: “It’s a brilliant once in a lifetime opportunity.
“I’m proud to have had them as part of my coaching set up at St Neots.
“Matty getting a job at one of the biggest clubs in the world and David [Bridges] at [Lincoln City] one of the most up-and-coming Football League sides outside the Premier League.”
