Messi is if not the best then top2 players so as of right now he would be more of a guarantee for trophies. The other thing is, hes still behind Ronaldo the most marketable and popular player so would add more to increasing your fan base, revenue, sponsors etc. In 4-5 years youd be ahead of the club that signed Neymar in terms of trophies won and revenue, if you both started as equals before signing them

Well if thats the scenario you see as most realistic, then Messi should be most expensive.

The way I see it is that Messi is the best player on the planet right now but Neymar is not that far behind, and in 1-3 years Neymar is going to be the best player. At the same time Neymar and Pogba are the marketble players of the new generation. That makes Neymar more valuable.
