Now obviously we weren't able to get them, but then how do they just allow us to start the season with no one to fill the role?

Does it matter whether they did or not? If they fucked up then they should lower the expectations for Allegri because the man doesn't look like himself anymore. Turns into a stubborn coach who seems to lack courage to change/try new things because of expectations (that's my guess, happened to Conte as well).

If we don't count Marchisio and Pjanic then half of our midfield is malfunctioning so how is Allegri supposed to deliver in such circumstances?
