Surprisingly I wasn't thinking of you
Yea, B_Aus is def more objective than the rest of the zombies.
I'd be less annoyed if we were selling him to Barca or Madrid. Those teams usually get their players whenever they want them. But why can't we convince a player (who has 3 years remaining on his contract) to stick around for at least another season of two, and aim for the CL with us? To lose our star player to a shit Man U team who aren't even in the CL is a poor look for us and Italian football in general.
Seriously, that really gets me more than anything else. Losing him to Madrid and Barca doesn't make us look like pushovers the way it does dealing with United who aren't even a CL club currently. We are effectively making a laughing stock of ourselves. And the board don't even realise, we are losing a fan base in letting go of such a commercial prospect. Fucking 120m. Notionally, it's a shitload of cash. But brass tacks, what does it really buy you in this market? Batshuayi at 40m. Sanches at 60m. Gomes at 60m. Fucking hold on to the players that build your brand and make you win on the pitch while you're at it. This is why, Juve may get richer and may win scudettos but we are never winning at the brand game. Which is why we limit our ability to be a globally recognised brand which hurts our projection of success, no matter how much we win.
We all know he's a GOAT on a budget. Let's see how he performs with mega money. A lot of pressure on him. I think he will deliver.
Still hate our selling policy though. We should not let players turn up one day and tell us they fancy a change, and be OK with that.
Quite frankly, I don't expect any star names coming into midfield. Firstly, no DG has ever dealt with such a windfall before to define whether this one will be successful, cos he's not really about big money market operations as much as he is about loans and freebies. Very different ball game negotiating the 50m type market. That apart, I think it is a profile of player that the club will look at, not the stardom or appeal aspect to replace Pogba. Expect the likes of more functional players who fulfill a certain need on the pitch. Not entirely wrong, but it's going to affect the way Allegri sets things up. We are going to have to be a lot more compact than last year, and a 3412, may just be the way to go. Pjanic's versatility is going to be a key factor in the upcoming season.
I dont know why he asked for it.
If he goes after dong that--- is because he is just only focused around his fame and his hype.
This is bullshit. I refuse to believe he suddenly just asked to leave. The club has its own style of negotiating profitable deals. Are you trying to tell me that Pogba informed the club he wanted out before the euros because till this point, Marrotta kept claiming he was not being sold, unless he asked for it. The offer has come to light, and now Pogba wants out? Load of crock. It's a two way street. The club deems it sensible and are open to losing the player. If anything they're putting it on the player, but if they shut down and rejected all offers out of hand, the player would never come and say he wants out. Especially considering that only a week ago he was joking about how he wanted an extra week of leave from pre season and that's why he was trying to make the euro final. All balls.

Even if he does get sold... it's 120ish million in Marotta's hands. Pretty much guaranteed CL.
Money does all the talking I guess. End of the day, the club is doing what it has to. But I honestly don't think the CL is a priority as much as it is staying profitable.
If they do sell Pogba, all I ask is that the board act very quickly. Get the new players integrated as quickly as possible. I don't want to see the same start that we had last year.
Which is why heart tells me that I would rather he deal with Real Madrid, because if we can get Morata back as one of the players in a swap deal, it will make the transition easier.
Yep, much better we sell to Madrid, get some players, and save some reputation of losing out to the biggest club in the world rather than a has been trying hard to stay relevant in the hottest league in the world.
