Morata business is his worst deal alongside with Martinez
We got a great young striker for two years, led us to a CL final and two serie A titles, and we make a profit on him, whereas we could not have signed him without the clause, not even for 30 mil EUR, because thats not what RM do.

The recompra is their standard MO, they had the same with Dani Carvajal in Leverkusen and maybe other players as well from their academy.

no way they would have sold Morata without it.

It was a gamble that diddnt compeltely pay off, but still worked out relatively well

He just openly talked about Gomes and Masch. Maybe another midfielder is indeed on the radar.
He said Mascherano isn't leaving Barca and Gomes is extremely difficult. Of course, we'll always look to add more quality to our team, but after spending 32M on Pjanic, I can't see us going all out to sign another high-profile CM. It'll be a youngster like Mandragora IMO.

We also need a winger if Cuadrado leaves :(
He might stay? I read something recently that suggested that he didn't want to go back to Chelsea. But if not, I guess we consider Alves his replacement.

 spot on

But I still hope we never go down that route again. Either sign a player or don't.

So Alves and Pjanic in and Morata out...I guess we bring in a striker and that's that for our mercato.
That's if Pogba stays? If he goes, I think it's the same rigmarole as last year. Striker maybe a big name with the money we've saved on Berardi and Morata income.

Interesting he spoke about Gomes, coz that's still a very expensive midfield signing whether at Valencias 60m, or our rumoured offer of 40m. Doesn't seem like we can afford a signing like that without a big sale, especially after we signed a biggie in Pjanic. Plus now an attacking replacement is required too.

:agree:

We don't seem so financially constraint now so I don't expect those types of deals any more.

When we can drop €32 million for Pjanic it means we're in a good spot but maybe that was Marotta just using the Vidal Money?

From what I remember we didn't spend a lot of money last year so we might not have even spent what we gained?

Why? We got Pjanic.

Maybe Mandragora? I can't see us signing another midfielder.
marchisio won't be back until november/december, so let's say pjanic is his replacement. if khedira gets injured (which is quite likely, he missed more than 20 matches last season), who will start in his place?

i can see beppe going for a kovacic loan kinda deal and letting 2 of pereyra, asamoah and hernanes go.

Losing Morata and Cuadrado would sure make Beppe regret his past market strategy. But this is the price the club is now paying for financial constraints, not mismanagement. If the club were super rich it could take risks on a young Morata and an out of form Cuadrado. Too bad.
Without the buyback, Real wouldnt give away Morata. Everything turend out good in the end, he played well, got us into a CL final, won us a coppa, we get 30M. Lets see who Marotta replaced him with and see if we give this operation a 10/10 or 9/10

Not sure if Batshuayi can play as SS but he had 10 assists last season (23 goals 10 assists on 50 games), i guess him with Zaza would work. Not sure if either of them with Mandzukic would be a good idea though

Yea the entire dynamic of the mercato changes if Pogba is sold. Really depends on the offer from Madrid. If they treat us badly on the Morata deal, pretty sure we can arm twist them in any deal for Pogba.

Don't Understand the hype about Batshuayi, watched him a couple of times and he didn't look good and every French Juve fan i know is not excited about this deal and don't want was to pay more than 20 mil for him.
