Zach and his selective memory again. I remember most Juve fans wanted him gone or at least dropped for Del Piero most of that season. He was extremely disappointing.
That was all down to Capello, who was playing him very deep, away from his CF position. Unlike the first season.
He was still significantly better as a player. Which became very clear once he went to inter and got a central free role.
SHould recall that b_aus. If Allegri had both players in training, he would clearly see zlatan be a superior player.

Yep, and while he definitely showed some moments of brilliance, one has to consider that he had Trez, DP and Mutu with him, so we weren't that dependent on him. Compare that to this season with Dybala and how he managed to score 20 goals.
Sorry but the second season with us he was nowhere magical. he sucked a lot of times, and was ahead of Del Piero because of Capello insistence on him not because he was playing great.

He was great in first season, took Italy by storm, called new Van Basten and people meant it. Don't think Dybala will reach that level tho I hope he does. But second season Ibra was really disappointing indeed, he couldn't decide wether he wanted to be a creator or scorer, poorly coached too, plus sophomore year jitters and he became very frustrating and inconsistent.
So why can't you just agree that you were wrong? That his second season he would be a sub to this year Dybala? No one is talking about potential ceiling of players but comparing thas year to this. And that year Zlatan was mediocre at best.

I havent said i was wrong. His performance was off the second year, but i credit that largely to Capello who was trying to figure out how to 442 again, so he played zlatan very deep, which didnt work. In training it would be quite obvious whom was the better player.
Zlatan kept Del Piero on the bench all year. Zlatan proved to be the better player at that time, Capello just fucked it up.
He would never have had such season with a coach who knew what he was doing
I know you haven't said you were wrong, that's the funny part of all this.
We can talk about what ifs all we want, but fact is he was mediocre and Dybala had a better year and was much more influental then Zlatan did that season. So based on that season Dybala should be starting.
