Marotta: 'Allegri era just begun'
By Football Italia staff

Juventus director Beppe Marotta reiterated “Max Allegri’s era has only just begun and we’re happy to continue with him.”

The Bianconeri host Sassuolo in Serie A this evening, follow the action as it happens and give your views on our LIVEBLOG.

“What changed since the last time we faced Sassuolo is our self-belief. We have achieved an extraordinary run of results,” Marotta told Mediaset Premium.

Juve are unbeaten in 18 rounds, ever since that humiliating 1-0 defeat at Sassuolo’s Mapei Stadium on October 28.

“Allegri was never in danger at the start of the season. We knew there would be difficulties considering the many changes in the squad.

“He proved himself to be a winning Coach and his era at Juventus has only just begun. We are happy to continue with him.

“From here to the end of the season we just need to win. That’s true for us, but also for Napoli, Roma and Inter.”

Marotta was asked about potential contract renewals for Andrea Barzagli, Patrice Evra and Paul Pogba.

“We are concentrated on the games. Is Barzagli’s renewal close? He is a great professional, we want to continue with him, as he sets the example for younger players.

Our depth is ok, but i think we should not tryt o cover the sun with our fingers and pretend we cant do better.
We need to find players who can up our game and thats a fact. We need to be precise and consistent in attack, because grinding and waiting for miracles to happen will not take us to the next level.

 IMO, we got to the point were we need to really sign top class players, otherwise we will get stagnated in where we are. Our players are not bad, but are not top drawer material in attack.

In short, we need more fluidity in our attack from the midfielders... players that have an eye for goal and assist. Pogba is our only real technical player in midfield, and the guy is failing to fulfill the inventive quota. Not because he cant but because he seems to be not clear how to do it.

Also a prolific CF is needed. I dont know if our forwards are not good because we kind of suck in building up chances for them, or because we simply dont have good enought forwards. Tevez was top class and scored a lot. So maybe we lack quality there too.

We are okaish with our workhorses in serie A, but we need more attacking prowess. Better build up. More decisive players.
What the heck are you on about now, my dear Panamanian?

Our forwards have 28 goals this year in 29 matches.

Last year our forwards had 35 goals in 38 matches.

We're actually doing better with our forwards this year in terms of goals.

It's our midfield that isn't scoring this year. Pogba has lost his shooting boots, and we haven't replaced Vidal's goals, nor Pirlo's.

Well maybe what i wanted to say is that we need a 25 goal+ striker CF. Dybala is fine. mandzukic doesnt score much but he does a lot of work so he is fine too. Morata maybe is the one who is lacking, or Zaza?....

And our midfield need maybe doesnt even goals... but more inventive..creativity. Thats all.

Tevez scored 20 last year. We haven't had a 25+ goal striker (in the league) in forever. And it seems we don't need it since we played in a CL final last year and are on our way to 5th straight scudetro this year after huge turnover of players this summer.

I'd like Pogba to be scoring around 15 goals a season in all comps, and he should be capable of it. He has the skillset.

And another more attack-minded box to box mid would be great. Someone less injury prone and with a little more skill than Khedira.

I think our strikers are fine. Morata is having a terrible year or we'd have even more goals from forwards. Mandzu without injuries probably has 3-4 more league goals too in place of Morata's 3 month slump.

...and Marchisio's
Marchisio lost his like 2 years ago. If anything, Pogba was led down the wrong path by our Claudio! :D

Marotta: 'Disallowed goal costly'
By Football Italia staff

Juventus director Beppe Marotta blamed the officials for their Champions League exit to Bayern Munich. “Errors at this level are costly.”

The Bianconeri had been 2-0 up at the Allianz Arena, but were pegged back to 2-2 in stoppages and capitulated 4-2 in extra time.

“The Alvaro Morata disallowed goal would’ve changed the face of the match. Certain errors at this level are costly, they make a big difference,”
the director general told Mediaset Premium.

“I am not here to seek alibis, but I hope that in future Italian football is better protected. Certain refereeing performances are painful.

“I want to underline the great performance from the lads and the credit goes to our Coach. We must also remember the quality of Bayern.

“We almost achieved something remarkable, it’s a shame because it was a minute and a half from the end.

“Now we have to cancel out this memory, turn the page and think of Sunday’s derby against Torino. We want to do well, especially as the Serie A race is still open.”

Refs are shit at CL level. It happens time and again but what is ever done? Nothing, not once. It's the same guys for a period of years, and then a new bunch of randoms come in.

Very mediocre and generic answers. Usually Marotta has a few quips up his sleeve.
seems odd that he mentioned italian football being better protected rather than just some generic need better refs or unlucky or something. I dont ever recall our club hinting at some bias against italian sides before :cronios:

Our subs were Mandzukic, Sturaro and Pereyra. Not one player that will take the other team on and cause problems.

We sold Coman and brought Cuadrado in why? Why get rid of a winger to bring another winger in when we don't play with width?

The manager needs to stick with one formation and the management need to get him adequate players to play it.

The last Mercato was crazy and a bit all over the place really.

Cuadrado would have been nice to bring in if we had other wingers to play as we saw tonight he is a very good winger when he does play out on th wing.

I think he has mentioned it because of the recent games in the CL with not only us but Roma (quite a few dodgy decisions over the two legs)

we should have kept coman if we brought cuadrado.

Even allegri was not convinced of that transfer. Thats all marotta´s
Coman was not sold because we wanted to. Sure we could have done more to keep him, but he's really not that good and would not have had all this praise playing in Serie A, like we saw last season.

His grown and matured massively and was always gonna we seriously let a gem go. His second highest assister in champions league and letting bundesliga alight. I for one am not convinced he wouldn't had made it hear we pounced on the first opportunity and should have done more.

Loved his comments about the refrees, about time someone stand us for the club, we are never giving the benfit of the doubt in big games. What was the last time a decision went against Barça/RM/Bayern...
Refrees in europe treats us like a small team and will continue to do so if no one in this club raise that point.
