This isn't true at all.
Teams keep players who want to leave all the time. If it was Vidal who asked to move to Bayern, you tell him, you will sell him on condition of finding a replacement and if an appropriate offer comes. Otherwise he will stay for another season. Vidal is a professional on the field. Always has been, always will be. If we had asked him to stay one more season I'm a certain he would have given his all for the club.
Instead we sell him, under-value, very quickly, and without searching out an adequate replacement first.
No one here is saying that Vidal shouldn't have been sold under any circumstance. We're saying, he shouldn't have been sold unless the right offer came along, and/or we had an adequate replacement lined-up or already purchased which we clearly didn't.
Look at how Schalke dealt with Draxler. They confirmed they had discussions with the player who asked to leave, and told him they would only sell him if an adequate offer arrived. And they held out until that offer arrived.
