lets not forget beppe goes out with the Juve card in his pocket. Sabatini's club is not as attractive as ours.
in times when we're getting the diss left and right, its impressive what sabatini does.

So you would praise Beppe if we'll lose the Scudetto this season?
do you read what im saying, stop changing the subject. if Roma would have won only one scudetto in one of the last 4 seasons, you would have been 10x worse than the people making fun of Sabatini are now. Sabatini would have never been made fun of in the 1st place if it wasnt for your and your troll brigade mocking Marotta on every opportunity and praising Sabatini in return, not because you thought Sabatini was awesome or anything like that, but only for troll purposes. because thats all you are, a sad troll. now continue making an idiot of yourself so you get proven wrong once again at the end of the season by the Great Man.

Ah, so you're not much better then?
I dont comment on Sabatini. The above post its probably the first time i did it directly. When people used to praise sabatini, i would talk up on how marotta does it different, and doesnt need to sell to do his mercato's.
In before vidal got sold. Yeah but that wasent for economical reasons, i'm looking at it strickly economically here

I rate Sabatini. Well below Beppe. But far above those peasant ds most so called "top teams" in serie a have.

Give the man a big budget and Roma will grow nicely

To those who feel the need to consistently give Sabatini credit, I wonder how many of us would lose their minds if Marotta followed his plan, which is basically 7-8 new players every year with no consistency, and not winning any trophies.

Nearly every good young player he acquires, he ends up selling, getting more players, and doesn't win anything. And LAST YEAR would have been the perfect opportunity to win the Scudetto. Conte leaves, Juve in turmoil, they stole Juve's primary transfer target from under their noses. Lauded throughout Europe for his transfer market. Loads up in January for a stretch run.

And what happens. Someone please remind me. And please remind me why we would want to have that type of sporting director at the head of this club.

That card carried little to no value 5 years ago. One of the few reasons why that card carries any sort of weight right now is because of the man who played a large part in building this roster.

How good was that "juve card", when beppe took over a juventus freshly tarnished by calciopoli, comming of a 7th place finish ?

Like King of Kings said, he made that card entirely his own. He build our entire team himself, and had two great coaches along the way

Its like Ive heard the distant rumble of Savatini's genious before. Its like they havent accomplished a single thing since this transfer sauron took over :howler: .

On paper it looks good every season, they have no clutch players. Nada, not one.

Great post
And I'm not saying that Sabatini isn't good at what he does. He is good. I have yet to be convinced that he is better than Marotta though. And what is funny, is that some members on this thread who are now praising Sabatini, were the same ones who were laughing at him when he admitted mistakes in the transfer window last year, and were laughing even more when Roma basically fell off the face of the earth in the last two months of the season.

PedroFlu and Suns were the original, card-carrying Sabatini nut-huggers. Nothing new here. They get off on his "big name, flashy transfers" that have won Roma so much over the years. Every year we hear off them how great and fantastic Roma's mercato is and at the end of every season we laugh.

beppe should go for kurzawa so sabatini can hijack the deal with a cheeky low €30m bid.

Sabatini works with what he's got, and that's the 4th biggest club in the country. Pretty different from Juventus, with half the budget. Of course the owner is investing, but still, they traditionally can't keep their best players, gotta find talent, make it a cycle and also get results with it. Pretty much what Dortmund did.

The fact he buys young players after selling others is club's policy, that's what a club like Roma has to do to survive and grow. And they are definitely doing it well. It's like Sabatini and Marotta are in a race, but one drives a Honda and the other a Ferrari.
