Because half a million is the difference between signing a top player or not.

Brillant logic, indeed.
A few millions have been the difference. Half a million now, almost a million for Anelka, 1.5mil for Bendtner... Do the match, smartass.

How many minutes did they get again?

It's money out the window and a complete unnecessary waste.

well tbh, i can agree with that logic to a certain extend because beppe is pennypincher nr. 1 and always tries to save as much as possible at any deal. furthermore, 0.5m here, 1m there could easily add up quickly.
so "throwing away" half a million looks like a questionable decision BUT
- we don´t know any numbers yet. we don´t even know who we gonna buy/loan, so at least wait with the meltdown till there is anything to go full retard about ^^.
- that primavera argument doesn´t make any sence imo. as weird as it might sound, the vast majority of our primavera can only dream about becoming as good as osvaldo or matri ;). oh yeah it sounds really weird.
giovinco wasn´t a key player by any means but he was still somewhat useable, just like matri or osvaldo would be.
btw: inter just played a primavera kid today. was at fault for 2 goals and got sent off :p. doesn´t prove anything of course but still .
- i hope that whoever comes doesn´t have to get too many minutes but if there is some kind of injury or whatever i would feel a lot safer with matri/osvaldo than with some kid.

Yes.

And it's not a matter of being better or worse than Osvaldo or Matri. Whoever fills the slot will rarely ever play. No need to spend money that could be used towards another player's salary.

that´s the point. we can´t know for sure. just look at roma. 2 season ending injuries within the space of a week.
and after giving it another thought: if the new striker is matri i think we will see quite a lot of him because allegri is in love ^^.

Of course we can't know for sure, there's no certainty in Football. Hell, even Osvaldo himself could get injured. But we can't have that kind of mentality. I refuse to believe that a club of this caliber don't have a single primavera talent who could fill the 5th striker spot and most likely just warm the bench for half a season.

If that's the case then it's even more stupid than i thought. We let a player go because - he wasn't good enough and certainly Juve material - now we want him back?

I was happier when our winter window had nothing going on. As @X well said after we missed out on the great Sneijder: signing no one at this point would be a blessing.

I can't wait until the Marotta Dick Riders come up with more pathetic excuses during the Summer Mercato.

Exhibit A: But we couldn't compete with the oil clubs as we don't have their resources.

Exhibit B: He did what he could with the resources available to him.

Exhibit C: There weren't that many options, and others clubs weren't willing to sell to us on our terms.

Exhibit D: He got the players the coach wanted.

Exhibit E: These depth signings were needed as it is going to be a long season, and we need to rotate players.
And more :blah: :blah: :blah:

the official numbers are not out but they could equate to what we got for Gabbiadini.

you won't laugh we he sells Pogba and buys Allan for 25m.
then spends the other 20 mill on bringing matri back permanently and the rest on Francesco Lodi to compensate the loss of Pogba's quality in midfield

One of them got trapped today and unintentionally admitted that Marotta failed :seven:
