Lucio was free and was much better add to squad than Bonucci
Giovinco is the most underrated player in this team, mostly used out of position, i am sure that Beppe tried to renew his contract or to sell him but since he decided to move to Toronto and earn 10m per season there it was impossible to do it
Borriello left his mark, that was my point, not his goal against Cesena only
Romulo is great, it's not Beppe's problem that Romulo received his ugly injury
Anelka could have done more with us if only he had more playing time, that was my point

Top: Vidal, Pirlo, Lichsteiner, Pogba, Tevez, Barzagli, Asamoah
Good: Vucinic, Llorente, Giaccherini, Pepe, Storari, Quagliarella, Padoin, Caceres, Matri, Pereyra, Coman
Mediocre: Peluso, Krasic, Pazienza, Ogbonna
Flops: Motta, Martinez, Elia, Isla

Don't forget about youngsters - Gabbiadini, Zaza, Berardi, Boakye, Leali, Sturaro, Rugani
:( The fvck is wrong with you?
Isla and Motta were flops?! If Borriello left his mark, then they did too. Isla had a great game against that turkish side, Trabzonspor or something like that, which helped us advance in EL. I remember Motta having a coupla great games too.
Anelka could have done more with us if only he had more playing time? Well then that applies to Elia too.
it's ALSO not Beppe's problem that Martinez received his ugly injury.

You need to work on your old English mate...it makes little sense what you're trying to say.

May I suggest reading the Divine Comedy?

The situation Marotta received when appointed:

Marotta was appointed in may 2010, the club following a disastrous 7th place position. When he was appointed he had the following squad:

Buffon, Manninger, Chimenti

Chiellini, Caceres, Cannavaro (on decline), Legrottaglie, Zebina, Grosso, Molinaro, De Ceglie, Grygera

Sissoko, Poulsen, Melo, Tiago, Marchisio

Camoranesi (on decline), Salihamidzic (on decline), Diego, Candreva

Del Piero, Giovinco, Trezeguet (on decline), Amauri, Iaquinta (on decline)

For the record, this is a VERY bad team. It's a mix between formerly great players on huge decline and on big salaries with overpayed and overrated players, and some misfits. Not enough talent in there. Specially when Milan was still good.

-------------//------

The instruments he had to work with

Net expenditure in transfer fees from 2010-2015 - 5 seasons - roughly 190M euros, counting the money received for sales. (transfermarkt data)

Overall: Marotta had 190M to spend in 5 seasons. Top 8 spending club in the world. For reference, Napoli spent around 130M in this period. Roma spent around 90M (they got a lot of money selling players). Inter spent 62M.

Dortmund: 65M. Atletico: + 10M. They actually got more money than spent in the past 5 seasons. Arsenal spent less than us: 150M. Liverpool: 210M.

Salaries: today we spend around 250M/year gross on salaries. Roma: 200M gross. Milan: 190M gross. Inter: 150M gross. Napoli: 150M gross.

2013/14: Juve: 230M gross. Milan: 210M. Inter: 190M. Roma: 185M. Napoli: 140M.

2012/13: Milan: 240M. Juve: 230M. Inter: 200M. Roma: 180M.

2011/12: Milan: 320M. Inter: 290M. Juve: 200M. Roma: 150M.

2010/11: Milan: 260M. Inter: 240m. Juve: 200M. Roma: 160M.

So in the past 2 years we've been having the biggest amount of salaries to deal with. Before that Milan spent more than us. But they roughly spent no money in transfer fees in the past 5 years.

Serie A:

2010-2011: 7h
2011-2012, 2012-13, 2013-14: Champions
2014-15 - currently 1st place (half season)

CL: 2012-13: quarter finals
CL: 2013-14: group stage (semi finals in UEFA League)
CL: 2014-15: advanced group stage

Current squad:

Buffon, Storari, Rubinho

Litch, Caceres, Evra, Bonucci, Barzagli, Chiellini, Ogbonna

Pirlo, Sturaro, Vidal, Pogba, Pereyra, Asamoah, Romulo, Padoin, Pepe

Giovinco, Coman, Tevez, Morata, Llorente

Rights on Rugani, Berardi, Zaza, among others.

Conclusion

In the past 5 years, Marotta had by far the biggest budget in Italy. A top 10 budget in the world.

The performance in Serie A has been excepctional so far. We are not only respected again, but feared. This is a historical moment of complete dominance.

In Europe the performance has been disappointing though. We have similar tools to teams like Dortmund and Atletico, and he hasn't been able to achieve relative success with those tools.

Right now the squad has decent balance. A few WC players, a lot of good players for Serie A and some very bright young prospects.

Marotta did fuck up a lot of times, overpaying for Matri, Pepe, Pereyra and others, signing faillures like Martinez, Motta, Isla, Elia, signing guys that didn't really work for a heft price like Giovinco, Ogbonna (so far), signing Evra, renewing De Ceglie, making pathetic panic buys like Anelka, Bendtner, etc.

But he was responsible, as far as we know, for very key decisions, such as hiring Conte, believing in Pirlo (when no one did), finding ABSOLUTE steals like Vidal, Pogba, Tevez and Barzagli, signing core guys like Licht, Caceres, Bonucci (he's improved, even though not good enough for Europe), Llorente, having a good eye for youngsters with Paratici, having secured some of the biggest Italian talents of today, and recently making a very tough decision and that is working very well so far by hiring Allegri.

So yes, Marotta has succeeded. He's really thrown a lot of money down the drain, but the impact of the key decisions that make Juventus of today are far greater than the impact of his poor decisions.

He clearly works well with an eye for youngsters and low fee signings. He doesn't seem to thrive when having too much money to spend. But he is clearly improving as time goes by.

5 years go, when we were completely fucked, who wouldn't sign up for the situation we have today? This is an absolute dream. Marotta deserves every credit.

Now it's time to aim for Europe. He has the tools to make this team a force in Europe. We are indeed a rich club. Let's see if he has what it takes. Pogba's situation might define a lot of stuff here.

You are probably trolling but ill fall in the bait.

Isla was crap in that game against Trabsonpor. He failed A LOT of chances when he was all alone. That game , Giovinco was being the main man and everyone was marking him...leaving ISla alL alone to do his thing and failed miserably.

Borrielo, apart from that goal, the only thing he did is to seal Matri´s destiny, and on top of it with mediocre performances.

Its so genius and obvious that he barely plays and is behind a super off-form Llorente.

Otherwise i would not have said it. If you dont see the problem on that, its your thing.
