Romulo and Asamoah injured, Vidal playing very poorly, to his standards, in the first half of the season. Pirlo being very inconsistent.


Yeah, his finishing has been woeful this year, however he's an athletic, hardworking, fast player who does well in space.


I'm not convinced that he has justified his price tag yet, but he still has the 2nd half of the season left to go.


He has helped to lessen the blow of the injuries and poor form that has besieged many of our midfielders this year

Exactly, we all knew why Pereyra was coming here, given his versatility he would help Alot. He is still only 24 and some make it sound like he has flopped. Every performance he puts in is a good one, sure the goals are lacking, but that can always be improved.

As I had stated previously, he has not justified his price tag, assuming that it is a fixed price at the end of the season.

However, as @JuveJay previously mentioned, he has 1000 minutes so far this season, on a squad such as Juventus. You don't get those kind of minutes on this club if you are of no use to said club.

I remember people defending Amauri well into his season where it was obvious he was failing and going to continue to do so. Pereyra adds a lot to the team and finishing isn't his job. Amauri's job was to finish and rarely did. I have no idea why some here are ao quick to judge a guy that's a midfielder as one would a striker.

The pressure on Amauri was different, he was supposed to be the finished article and in his prime age. Some players just can't hack big clubs, or arrive at the wrong time.

Pereyra was bought at the same age as Vidal, Asamoah and the like, the idea is that he develops to also be an important player.

When 2 of the midfielders on our squad happen to be goal scoring machines such as Vidal and Pogba, and another is a free kick master in Pirlo, it is human nature to compare.

Sure, not to take anything from Vidal but a lot of his goals come from PKs. No one comes close to Pogba obviously. One could assume Pereyra has the ideal environment to learn from the absolute best.

Im no fan of him behind the strikers would rather him as a b2b.
