I think that Marotta pulled a Moggi with Iurbe. Like he had done with Domoraud and Inter.

Genius.
Marotta to become responsible for Roma's financial collapse? :lol2: Iturbe deal has certainly been unfavorable one and their current financial situation suggest that either owners will have to increase the equity or sell few players to avoid solvency issues. Brilliant work.

Anyway watching Iturbe this season at Roma especially yesterday against Palermo I am nearly grateful to Beppe that he didn't sign him, especially not for that ridiculous price 31-32 mil.Good decision .
that is true, Beppe decided to spend almost 40m on Morata and Pereyra instead.:delpiero:

I don't rate either of them much.Especially Pereyra. But having in mind the price of that midget Iturbe and his form of lately Morata and Pereyra looks as a not that bad deals compared to his price. The midget is a absolute zero.A 32 mil. zero.

Morata is a player with an exellent future ahead, and Pereyra apart from finishing is a very good squadoption

The hate on Pereyra is silly. Its good Allegri publically backed him. Silly foreign forum this is.

He's a good player who can play nearly every midfield position. He'll improve in the future and gets criticism here cause he's not finishing.

I'm happy we signed such player. Coaches love them. Adds tactical versatility.

Can also play as backup winger btw

He doesn't know what Bayern's roster looks like.
Yes, probably Bayern fans also don't know what the roster looks like. That's why they would have given him away for 10M. Just don't know dem roster :scared:

Merda got ripped off and everybody on here should be happy rather than whinging for that badlet. ;)

You just don't pay 17 mil. for a player who will eventually improve in the future but for a complete product. This also counts for a backup winger comment.

This is going to sound really strange, but how screwed would this team have been if Pereyra didn't put in these minutes this year?

Romulo and Asamoah injured, Vidal playing very poorly, to his standards, in the first half of the season. Pirlo being very inconsistent.

Yeah, his finishing has been woeful this year, however he's an athletic, hardworking, fast player who does well in space.

I'm not convinced that he has justified his price tag yet, but he still has the 2nd half of the season left to go.

He has helped to lessen the blow of the injuries and poor form that has besieged many of our midfielders this year

Exactly, we all knew why Pereyra was coming here, given his versatility he would help Alot. He is still only 24 and some make it sound like he has flopped. Every performance he puts in is a good one, sure the goals are lacking, but that can always be improved.

Which was a better decision as both have already contributed to the team

Agreed. But hey, what do we know? Too many natural born GMs on this forum that have all the answers.

As I had stated previously, he has not justified his price tag, assuming that it is a fixed price at the end of the season.

However, as @JuveJay previously mentioned, he has 1000 minutes so far this season, on a squad such as Juventus. You don't get those kind of minutes on this club if you are of no use to said club.

He has been useful

yes sir, I agree.

I remember people defending Amauri well into his season where it was obvious he was failing and going to continue to do so. Pereyra adds a lot to the team and finishing isn't his job. Amauri's job was to finish and rarely did. I have no idea why some here are ao quick to judge a guy that's a midfielder as one would a striker.

The pressure on Amauri was different, he was supposed to be the finished article and in his prime age. Some players just can't hack big clubs, or arrive at the wrong time.

Pereyra was bought at the same age as Vidal, Asamoah and the like, the idea is that he develops to also be an important player.

When 2 of the midfielders on our squad happen to be goal scoring machines such as Vidal and Pogba, and another is a free kick master in Pirlo, it is human nature to compare.

But these three are the exception, not the rule.

Sure, not to take anything from Vidal but a lot of his goals come from PKs. No one comes close to Pogba obviously. One could assume Pereyra has the ideal environment to learn from the absolute best.

Im no fan of him behind the strikers would rather him as a b2b.
