20mln for Morata is a pathetic deal.
So, in your opinion, how much is worth a striker that is only 21 years old, has just won U21 European Cup being the best player there, scoring goals for Real Madrid, a club that do not really want to let him go?

How would You call paying 12m for Verratti, a player with one good season in SERIE B.

It's today's market dude.

Morata barely played for Real, he came on as a sub to get 15 minutes and now he's worth 20mln all of a sudden, just because he's a Real player (price wise). It's kinda retarded that his price is 20mln just because he dominated with youth Spain squad.

Verratti was playing in every match and was an obvious success, which he is. Morata on the other hand is potential and nothing else. So he's a bigger risk by default.

Immobile had 20 goals in Serie A, best goal scorer, and was paid less.

It is today's market where prices are inflated, but it's also a rip off.

The fact that he barely played for the RM first team and was still able to score 9 goals makes what he did there all the more impressive, imo. And the player who is the best player of a U21 european Cup is an undisputed talent with a big future.

Our bench right now :

Storari(4.5m)-Ogbonna(15m)-Caceres(8m)-Isla(14m)-Pereyra(12m)-Giovinco(11m)-Morata(20m)

Total : 84.5m euros

:beppe: #sweg
Storari: We were in a very big need of a goallie. Moreover, Marco was worth that money.

Ogbonna: I do not consider him a flop yet. He has potential and I have some hopes for him next season. Might be much better in a back 4. Only in that window PSG paid 50mln for David Luiz and City 40mln for Mangala. Wonder how much Benatia gonna cost.

Caceres: Again, find me a better CB+RB for that money in that age. What's more, he was already proven in our club.

Pereyra: It's only a loan.

Giovinco: 15G12A. I am sure You would blast Marotta if he didn't bring him back that time. Also Conte wanted him apparently.

Bitches gonna bitch.

In what tournament did he win "Best Player"?

Verratti was also present at that tournament, Italy went to the final where they were crushed by Morata's Spain. Verratti played in a pathetic Serie B in a freaking Pescara and You claim that he was more proven than Morata who gained goals and minutes at RM?

As for Ciro I don't rate him. He's not better than Morata atm and he's older. Alvaro will be much better player.

Extremely selective. Like I've said in Morata's thread overall progress in quality of our personnel is what counts and what his work should be judged upon.

And to explain myself,i was hardly referring to the value of these players but the fact that we're using too much money on depth signings and we're following the same trend this year too rather than addressing the urgent needs.

He's just widely regarded to have been the best player of that tournament. But the actual award was a Golden Boot.

Thank you.

I think Morata is an interesting prospect. My biggest problem with the deal (besides the pathetic clause) is I can't see him improving our CL-chances and honestly.. winning the Scudetto without a serious CL challenge is kinda boring.

And people saying he is part of a general improvement of our squad over time. Meh.. We'll loose out on Pogba and/or Vidal if we don't start winning in Europe. Can't keep them without success in Europe and the rest of our "greats" are getting old.

We're on the verge of signing quality LB, pretty fundamental signing imho. There is very good back up mid Pereyra, who should be considered as a huge upgrade over Padoin. Then young and talented Morata, type of signing we exactly needed after getting rid of most of our deadwood in attack. Mercato hasn't finished yet, so we don't know whether we will get that top name, but so far the most urgent needs have been addressed.

Well, I'm dreaming of a great run in the CL, too. Definitely! But we'd have to win many many more scudetti on the trot for me to find that boring. I'm super hungry for a 4th straight title

No they haven't. Juventus lacked offensive quality in champions league last season. Who have we signed that'll help with that?

Good teams know, that they "only" have to shut down Pirlo and we'll look lost.

:shifty:

After watching Juve in the Champions League last year, ask yourself what did we truly miss.
