How is it a transfer if there is no contract of full player rights are signed between club and player?
It pains me to say this, but go on transfermarkt... and loans are counted as 'transfers' there. I'm not just talking literal transfers, just players that have been brought in to play for the first team since Marotta's arrival as GM.

Getting rid of Trez and not being able to find a decent replacement until now, was the worst IMO.

I understand he had high wages and was not that young, but FFS we got Toni who had similar wages and we were still paying around 70% of Trez's wage for a year while he was playing for Hercules.

Don't see any problem with Marotta not meeting Lyon's demands for Lisandro Lopez. I'm not as much of a fan of him as some others round here are, so I wouldn't have committed to signing him without a loan period to have a look at him first - and even then I wouldn't have been willing to go over 10m in total for the loan and the transfer.

Obviously, no-one is going to like the Anelka move, because he's a has-been and a prick.

However, I think the relatively inexpensive, short-term option is the best one here.

None of the forwards availbale just now are particularly appealing, and the ones that are relatively appealing don't look particularly good value for money to me.

On that basis, I'd say it's better not to commit to anything long-term at this point and to just sit tight until the summer to see what opportunities there are then to strengthen the forward line.

It's definitely not over 300m :S
lets assume is around 250 mil.

Before Marrota arrived we had, Buffon, Chiellini, Marchisio, Giovinco, (players that are still playing, starters).
Barzagli, 300k, Bonucci 18, Pirlo free, Vucinic 18 mil (not very sure), Licht 10, Vidal 10 which equals to 56.3 MIL.

buffon,
Licht-Barzagli-Bonucci-Chiellini
Vidal-Pirlo-Marchisio
Vucinic-
with 200 other million, we could have bought Messi and Ronaldo assuming each player costs 100m.

depth players we could have bough with the sales or we could have used our primavera players, Marrone, Ekdal, and so on.

Marrotta spent over 250 mil and failed to sign at least a quality striker who could score over 20 goals. FAIL FAIL FAIL. instead we got, Matri, Quag, Boriello, Bednfggdfg.

p.s. I know that Del neri was a stupid, fuck, I am also aware that he found difficulties to get rid of some players, Iaquinta, Amauri, Melo, etc.

Badmotorfinger :)

Don't ignore the second part.
The second part is irrelevant. If we don't sign the player then he isn't a transfer. The fact that they were not signed could only imply that Marotta made a smart choice based on sound observation not to sign them. They certainly can't be labelled 'failed transfers' if they were not transferred.

Caceres - Great utility player, never fusses about where he plays or when he plays
Giaccherini - Hard working gutsy player
Asamoah - Top signing
Isla - Still needs time to adapt.
Giovinco - Leading goalscorer so far this season
Leali - Quality prospect
Lucio - Chance to troll Merda
Masi - Also a quality prospect
Boakye - One of the leading talents in Serie B so far this season
Pogba - Goes without saying
Rubinho - Third choice keeper, there to fill the roster
Bendtner - Average signing to be fair, but was unluckily injured and therefore cannot make amends for first half of season
Peluso - Only a couple of games under his belt, shakey start but still has a goal to his name
Pirlo - World class, free, team of the year player, Milan fans pissed etc
Ziegler - free transfer, will receive some payout once he's sold
Pazienza - good squad player
Motta - hours of laughter enjoyed on his behalf
Pepe - Lazio killer
Quagliarella - Champions league top goalscorer, was our top striker before that injury, dozens of spectacular goals
Matri - Our top goalscorer last season, handsome devil, Federica Nargi
Lichtsteiner - One of the best right backs in the world
Vucinic - Most skillful player we have
Estigarribia (loan) - Chipped in with a few decent goals, hard working, Scudetto winner
Elia - Social media expert
Borriello (loan) - No comment
Padoin - Another example of a no complaints, hard working squad player, exactly the qualities that Conte looks for in a player.
Storari - Could start for most other top teams
Lanzafame (loan) - No comment
Bonucci - Italian International stalwart.
Martinez - This was pretty poor to be fair
Constantino - Who?
Krasic - Brilliant first season, unfortunately didn't fit the mold in Conte's Juve
Aquilani (loan) We all agreed at the time that this was a great loan signing, and he did ok all things considered.
Camilleri (loan) - meh
Rinaudo (loan) - Never really got a chance because of injury
Sorensen - Still showing signs of becoming a very good player.
Toni - Legend, forst goalscorer at the new stadium.
Barzagli - unbelievably shrewd signing, one of the best CBs in Europe
Traore (loan) Not great.

There were a few left off this list like Appelt and Ouasim Bouy who are fantastic prospects too

It is easier to count his good moves rather than bad ones. Guy is Ranieri of directors. Temporary solution but will not take you to next level.
What is the name of this Director that can buy world class players for peanuts and get every transfer right?

I think Trez's wife wanted to move back to her home town and thats why he wanted to leave.

I'm pretty sure I read an interview of him where he stated that he was forced to leave.

But how can it be good if the player is shit and they didn't do anything meaningful or play well? So you will say Rinaudo was a good transfer? Despite playing I think 1 game as a sub.

It's all about Borriello isn't it :D

It's way less than that.
Probably ~€200m so far.

Andrew, it is not about Lopez in particular contra Anelka, it is all about the pattern he follows. He never negotiates, he just proposes his own terms and hopes they get accepted or the player pushes for an exit. After several attempts he finds someone, Borriello, Bendtner, Anelka.
