Builds fantastic team, wins scudetto, hires a coach who turns out to be one of the most talented in the world and team goes 49 games unbeaten and some of ya'll still want him fired?

Man I think he has turned out to be an amazing asset to our team.

Exactly.

On what basis are we supposed to judge how well a general director has done other than the success of the team he builds?

But according to a lot of the anti Marotta folk, the good signings are all Conte's signings (or Raiola's :howler: ), the mediocre players are Marotta's.

And and since Conte is the coach, he is the only one that should take credit for our success. They are also irritated that he didn't sign a star striker, pretty much ignoring the circumstances Italian Clubs find themselves in with regards to these players.

He should have shut the fuck up, he knew he was close to Aguero
Why does this Aguero thing always keeps coming back? The only thing we actually know is that we were interested in him, just like we are/were interested in many other players.

Never has it been confirmed (key word here) that we actually were close, besides the usual, random rumours people were being fed on here or on other forums. And iirc, those rumours everyone was/is apparently so keen to believe, kept coming for many weeks after Marotta had already made it clear we were not going to sign him.

I don't get it. Blame him for not strengthening the attack and/or getting Bendtner all you want (and rightfully so imo), but at least leave the rumours and hearsay out of it.

Objectively speaking, you can't really argue with that. And I think everyone knows it.

But the whole striker thingy will keep coming up: if we don't sign "him", if we sign him but he doesn't perform, if we sign him and he gets injured, if we sign him and he scores but we lose many games, etc.

Who claims he needs to be fired? So all of this is because of Marotta or partly?

I can't have buck on the other side too :depressed

That's the only thing being done here most of the times but then the marotta romatics come out on the offensive and take the train off the tracks.

Since you ask about aguero, before the coppa when we were the only team negotiating with athletico they said they would take nothing less that Aguero's buy out clause, which was around 35m. Marotta was penny pinching and offered around 30 and it kept increasing little every day.

If the Aguero thread was not filled with 90% fapping posts i would have dug it out. Anyways the best confirmation of Aguero being close came from marotta himself and this cannot be denied, i think the whole forum remembers the most epic marotta troll when he was asked about Aguero and he smiled and said soon.

Anyways this argument is useless now, like you said too he failed to get us a striker and even if we forget the 2 mercatos from the dumb nerdy era he still had tons of money and backing on the other 4.

Maybe someone from one among a thousand posts and they will cling to that argument even if almost all of us said no one is asking for drop eye's head.

What I remember is parts of interviews & various statements completely out of context. Big (meaningless) headlines & inaccurate translations. Random conclusions & so called inside info. Etc.
And yes, a lot of fapping because of it.

Still surprises me how people can be so gullible when it somehow suits their agenda. Only to be the complete opposite when it doesn't.

I hardly ever believe what's reported on this forum by members, i remember reading that statement by marotta and i think most of the forum does.

Wait, top side or bottom side, you know I don't care Woody :D

^ no, he smiled when someone asked him about Juve, there was obviously a deal in place which Marotta fucked up in the final stages.
The smiling part is being mentioned coz that burns the balls, you clearly missed what he said or you just chose to.

His name is Maximus Beppicimus Marotus, Commander of the Armies in the North, General of the Drughi Legions, loyal servant to the true president, Andrea Agnelli. Father of a murdered cause, husband to a murdered reputation. And he will have his revenge in this life or the next.
