This part of his a couple of days fresh, excuse-fest aka press conference is particularly amusing after the glorious 3rd back to back draws at CL:

"The statistics enable us to make a full analysis and confirm that we have a winning model."

Or maybe he just doesn't want to talk about this kind of statistics and instead hold onto his beloved 47 league unbeaten streak?

I can understand him not being able to sign a "top player" because we can't afford the fee and wages.

But whats wrong with him signing a very good player that will contribute something to our cause?

Its either a world class name or a bum there doesn't seem to be any middle ground tith Marotta!

Berbatov would of been that player but he shafted us but what stopped Marotta of signing a simlar level of player and end up going for Bendtner?

And another thing what happened to the funds we were going to sign that "top player" with?

I can see us doing a 'Dortmund' this season in the CL to be honest, but coming back next season all the stronger for it, but Beppe has to get us a quality striker next summer, there is no way around it this time.
Might want to chase an AM too, you know someone to connect midfield to attack besides a Pirlo longball and PDC cross.

Our whole setup was pretty much rotting, from the top to the bottom. The youth sector had been as neglected/abused as recruitment for the senior squad during the Secco period. Its clear enough to anyone with eyes that we need a goalscorer, and it was a big failing of the summer mercato...why we didn't take a risk on someone like Damaio I still remain unsure, other than pondering that LLorente is in the bag for January/Summer and/or Conte vetoed other suggestions during the recent mercato. With the high amount of chances we create, the presence of 3 SSs (gio/vuc/quag) in our squad, a misfiring Matri, it was hugely deflating to see only a punt of a bendner loan come in.

Pogba was an incredible signing, and he could well grow into a world class player rather quickly, if he continues at his current rate of maturing. Our youth teams have some gems, and many of our co-owns/loan players are doing very well for themselves (appelt/boakye/chibsah/masi/pinsoglio/appelt). Marrone is finally breaking through slowly but surely, as Pogba continues to do so. We still have Pepe to come back. Finally we have a LWB who can tackle and holds some intelligence in his brain. ALL we need is this damn goalscorer, a new inzaghi/trez.

Beppe and paratici have done a great job in some areas, and i am once again proud of our position as domestic powerhouse, but...this lack of top quality in attack will continue to hurt us in europe, as it has done already. We can beat Chelsea and the Danes at home, but Shaktar away will be incredibly hard to open the door to qualification...which is a shame, but unsurprising.

The future looks quality, the present looks wonderful domestically, but on the European front, its essential we spend intelligently on a top drawer goalscorer. Damiao???? Or have we used up our non-eu player registrations with some of the youth team signings???Actually, I am near to sure they don't count for the senior team...or do they!?
