Agreed.We're not exactly in a financially 'stable' position to make big money buys YET.

I really can't think of Big club "ever" (besides cheap-broke asses like Milan) laying back and saying well we're looking for a top (striker, midfielder or whatever) in the market but there are no one "available" !

Clubs don't offer their top players for others to sign, Interested Top clubs almost always take a step forward and approuch clubs to sign their best players.

Thats the reason why I think we're going nowhere with Marotta. Problem with this guy is, he rarely approuch players from other clubs unless:

- they're on their last year of contract and they refuse to renew so their clubs are looking to cash in to them before they move for free.

- Players who are already Free so he offers them top salaries (the lure of top salaries + playing for a top club hardly needs any motivation from him).

- Buying players from smaller-selling clubs who he knows that its what they do for living, so negotiating with them won't be such a hard task.

That mentality can be fine in a club like Sampdoria or atalanta but not in a big club like Juve. And I really hope no one will come again with that Stupid arguement about having a limited budget because this club had been one of the biggest spenders in Europe for the past few years. So no excuses there please....

you honestly believe that every top player is being sold for 50-60 mil out there ? but thats really not the case, Santi Cazorla is a top talent yet he cost arsenal around 17-19 mil, Moussa Dembele another great talent he was brought for pretty much similar fee. Juan Mata cost Chelsea around 24 mil last season and i can go on and on with these examples. Point is They are out there but you need a great negotiator to close these deals.

There are many talents out there, Real or Barca won't sign everything that walks on two legs. I know that Clubs like Real or Barca will most likely have an edge over us if we entered a bidding war with them but we're still Juve (the biggest club in Italy and One of the biggest in the world). This club still have a Huge reputation out of Italy, but sadly people like Marotta are acting as if we're a sampdoria or Lzio at best.

Again if we stick with that Mentality then we will "never" sign a top player. And thats exactly what Marotta keeps feeding the fans, that we simply can't sign these kind of players (but to me thats just Bullshit talking to find an excuse for himself).

Look this summer we've spent around 45 mil, last year our spending was around 85 mil and the year before it was 50 m. If (for the sake of argument) we said that on average the club's spends around 50 mil euros each summer. you sign 2-3 players every summer each costing us 20-30 mil those players would be much more usefull to us than the 6-8 players we keep on signing every summer just to sell them in a year or two when they flop here.

I don't mind signing young players with potential thats fine with me but again top players (who will cost you considrable amount of money) are in general the ones that would really make a difference in your team. You need the Nedved's, Thurams's and Buffon's that are out there. Those are the players that really pushed our team to the CL final and won many titles with us. We were extremely lucky (plus our scouting network was excellent) to sign players like Del Piero or a Zidane who hardly costs us anything.

Thats a double edged theory actually. While there is no doubt that we had the money for a striker post our other purchases, it would wrong to say the strikers were not available on the market. They were not available on the terms we wanted for them. I'm not referring to Llorente for example, amd I absolutely don't blame fMarrotta for not being able to make that move happen. But if we were willing to negotiate our terms and terms of the selling clubs, we could have had a Dzeko for example. 25m and Mancini wouodve gift wrapped him and thrown in some bubble wrap to push the move through. We weren't willing to go to that extent. We went into the mercato, knowing full well, the conditions that encompass it. But we did not work keeping in mind what the trade off would be. That's what has failed us, not to mention, our lack of ability to enter into negotiations. No big player in Europe, or the one that fits the 'profile' Marrotta seems to describe, will ever be brought in without prolonged negotiations on part of the buying club no matter where the club is from. So I would say it's wrong to say there were no strikers available.

Makes a huge difference IMO. Every mercato hinges on player sales to make the difference between a good one and a great one, because negotiations on this front can help create the 'differential' capital for a mercato. Not to mention the very sensitive issue of player wages. For eg, taking Iaq, Martinez and Ziegler off the wage list could mean 3-4m extra per year to pay wages to a recruit like JoJo for example.

We aren't going to win the CL. We can hope to compete, but unless we have a massive slice of luck, both major and minor incidents go our way every single time, and we get a favorable draw (I believe we can finish top of our group) in the knockout stages, then it's not possible.

We are lacking in both quality and depth compared to the likes of Barca, Real, City, Bayern and possibly/potentially Chelsea and PSG.

We have a severe lack of depth in attack. Just because we have enough attackers who are all cack, except Vucinic, doesn't mean we are set in that department. Our defense is also not as deep as you guys think. If Chiello or Barza are absent, especially in Europe, we will struggle, with Bonnucci "Beckenbauer" and Snailinho Lucio.
