Would you want to fire/not extend his contract even if we win the Scudetto?
Yes. He's not good enough. The scudetto last year and this year is because of the work Conte is doing.

Failing to get a striker for 3 straight years is just inexusable.

So Marotta had absolutely nothing to do with the Scudetto?

He should be given some credit, he brought some great players but his shortcomings outweigh the good, he made the same mistakes over and over again. He can't buy outside Italy, he made pointless signings too much for my liking and wasted tons of money on shit players, overpays and take too long too conclude deals.

He couldn't adress our biggest need eventough he admitted that in the beginning of the summer.

I see where you are coming from, but IMO it's not worth taking the risk of hiring a complete new CEO. He'd probably want his own staff so Paratici would have to go as well. I don't think we can afford such a change when we plan to win it all. I think it would set us back.

I've seen several people say now 'I don't want him fired, but just let his contract expire'. What's the difference? Obviously you don't have confidence in him, so why give him the winter transfer window and negotiations from now until June?

Indeed.

If you want rid of Marotta you should want him gone immediately, so Juve can get a new guy in and he can have plenty of time to prepare for January and, in particular, next summer.

Yeah i understand your point, Paratici seems to be a great scout and i hope we see some of the deals we made for the youngsters pays off, If Marotta leaves i don't see Paratici leaving with him, another plausible scenario could be Paratici stepping in for Marotta, i read rumours about this last year.

They were also reports that suggested that Nedved, Conte didn't like Marotta strategy in the market and the fact that we are yet to extend his contract gives me hope that AA is skeptical and is considering other options. We could give Conte the reign over the Mercato ( England style ) and get someone to negociate deals and contracts.

if marotta was at real Madrid or PSG you all would love him.

You bring their SD's here with our budget you too would be calling for their head as well.

I can understand the frustration with the strikers but what can you do? You can't predict what other clubs will do with their own players not to mention working on a budget that is limited wont make things easier.

We spent more than Madrid two years in row IIRC. :sergio:
We bought more players for depth while they spent their core on top players. Big difference. I think it's pretty clear depth was absolutely necessary.

And let me add one more thing cheese...

If you compare how much Real will pay in salaries over the next few years compared to us in the same amount of time you will see why they can bring certain players to Madrid that we can't, even if our Mercato budgets are similar.

In transfer budget and wage budget they blow us away hands down.

If we got Llorente or Dzeko, how would you rate our mercato?
9/10.

We brought some good players, Asamoah/Isla/Giovinco are awesome and still vey young with room for improvement.

We signed Lucio for depth.

But the point remains that the priority this summer was to acquite a striker and he failed to do that.

You can't fit a square peg through a round hole, cheese.

36m for Llorente in last year of contract was not reasonable.

City would not sell without buying(Dzeko)

RVP wanted to stay and for the 50-60m for a 30 year old is just not smart and Juve knew that I think.(what Pado said)

Suarez renewed

Everyone here bitched about pazzini so sleep in your own bed, you made it.

Strikers by nature cost more, are overvalued and hard to find.

We tried for Jovetic but viola rejected.

Berbatov wanted something else, so as red said we could have dodged a bullet there
