We did not make an official 30mil offer for Cavani when we should!
IMO, we should just try it and if that failed, then we should just move on,at least we would stop wasting time,
one of the above mentioned players was available for that ammount, if we had our sights focused on one of them and made an official bid, we could have one of them, they are just examples, the options are way more wider and again i repeat ,
we should have known better by now what we can buy and what we cant.

You're denying this? I'm confused. I'm saying we always had the money for a striker. It was abiut hoe far we were willing to go with our bids to get them. It had nothing to do with the fact that isle, Gio and Asa were here. And if it did, then Isla had no reason being here, and if he did, then it doesn't make sense having Licht in the bench. At least we have depth in all departments. But yeah i would have loved Cavani here... no doubts.

I think we have Asamoah and De Ceglie for the LWB role. Also, Peluso is reportedly coming in (with Zeigler going the other way) so if we change to a 4-3-3 we have two players for each position (I think).

I agree about the Bartenderth deal. Totally uncalled for. About LB, at least we have Isla or caceres who can also play there withouth being a fail like grygera. We are more or less covered.

Still, im not trying to sugar cooat what Marotta did, as he clearly could have done a better job... at least in not letting them toy with us or doing silly purchases like Bartender or whatever his name is.

Edit: Sorry about the LB comment,,,read RB. yeh we have no depth there, Just DC. But like K said, is not that we play a lot with wingbacks... and just in case, we have asamoah who seems to be capable to play anywhere, specially as left back.

So where are the counter arguments, why was it the right choice not to make decent official bids and get on?
Why it wasnt the right choice to priorise the aquisition of our priority targets?
Why get the subs first and then, with the remaining resources and time gamble on the quest for the two starters?
How many more years should we keep on like that? Cant we see that this approach keeps failing?
Why cant Juve ever have a decent finisher and lesser teams can? How many more season will we favor quantity to quality?

Maybe we disagree here. But I'd just like to reiterate its always going to be a trade off. Next year, the predicament is going to be the same. Its going to come down to how far we are willing to go. By that I don't mean 36m for a Llorente. But a 25m for Dzeko, 30m for Suarez, maybe you pay a bit more, but the pros of a move like that far outweigh the cons. Moggi paid big money even when all the conditions were in our favourl. Madrid is doing it today when they want a player. Liverpool has done it. United have done it. I'm not referring to Chelsea and City and PsG because their spending patterns are unsustainable. When you do it for one player it doesn't put anything in jeopardy as long as it doesn't hurt your wage structure. According to mr anyway.

For that, sadly theres no concrete excuse this time. The only one i can find... is that they foresaw the lack of depth, and the amount of games coming where going to be too much for the likes of Pirlo ,Marchisio,Vidal and Lichteiner. They decided to cover that first before it exploded in our face. Thats the only excuse i can find..


Still.... we knew that our striker issue was our priority since long time ago...and when u have a problem as serious as that one...you do ur best to attack it asap. We failed at that so...

yeh i know, we have some versatility and thats good. Even pepe can play there if we send him there. We have choices this time....but we needed to in order to compete in all fronts.
