As if Marotta's job is on the line for "not signing a decent striker"
any ambitious employer should be pissed if his human resources manager failed (not just once or twice, but thrice) to hire an important and much needed figure at the company (like say... a great marketer) even if he has done a decent job at finding good guys other positions.

Get with the program. Top player > unbeaten records & titles.
It's Monday & I had a rough weekend. Cut me some slack :D

Has it ever occurred to you that Marotta just may be doing the job Agnelli wants him to do?

Are you fuggin' serious bro? Agnelli is probably the guy giving Marotta the directives NOT to spend massive on any one player. Have you considered this at all?

There seems to be for some reason, a grave misunderstanding that we have no money. We are among the bigger spenders in Europe. And please do not bring the Serie a is a dump argument to the fore, because as things stand Zlatan Ibrahimovic I'd playing in Ligue 1. We have the resources, it's a question of priorities. We CAN buy that big player. It's just that we tend to spread our priorites and define our objectives of world class a little differently. My point is not to berate Beppe. I still don't like him but he's done a very good job thus far, but is again failing to deliver on the two biggest fronts. LwB and CF. I reserve my comments and judgments till August 31st, because I'm pretty sure he knows the need gaps better than us.

Ask yourself why Zlatan is playing there again.

Serie A is fucking skint. Were not exactly paupers, you're right, but we are WAY OFF, the likes of Shitty/PSG/Chavski when it comes to offering massive wages and transfer fees. I don't know why you keep finding that hard to grasp.

You know and I know that most big name players find Serie A as a step down compared to La Liga and EPL. Yeah it sucks, but at the moment its the sad truth. TBH, Im happy with the work Marotta has done in the mercato for the past two years, splashing out on massive names for the fuck of it is Galacticos-esque, and doesn't necessarily lead to success.

Wasn't that going to be his big test all along? I believe as fans of the club we will be well within our rights to criticise him and question his competency if he fails. We are not going to be unbeaten this year, and are going to have to finish our chances a lot better than last year when competing on three fronts. No matter what he's done till now, if he lands up with say, Pazzini, then this mercato is 5-6/10. I doubt it'll happen though. He's dumb but not dumb enough to not know the need of the hour. :D

A question of priorities & question of working within the rules "you" set for yourself.
Of course we can take financial risks & spend big. But we're probably not going to do it, which I applaud.

Hell, we're still suffering from the last time we took a financial risk...

I'm sorry there's nothing to grasp. You prioritise a position and go all guns blazing. You talk about lcds and icings on the cake, when you know bloody well that the mercato is controlled by Arab money. So please don't tell me these people are not aware of the task at hand when they even begin to think or communicate their interest in signing a player of a certain stature. when Marrotta conveys his interest in RVP, what do you assume he's thinking in terms of salaries?! Gift vouchers at the juve store?? If that signing is going to be out of reach from the get go, don't spend 2 out of 3 months of your mercato, chasing it when you could be dealing elsewhere. Were you not around for last year's Aguero saga!? Did we learn nothing?? And I've asked myself why Zlatan is playing there, apart from the fact that it's been his 'childhood dream' he's there to pack in the extra millions. Just like any other world class player. Do we need massive wages for JoJo? Hs potentially world class, but look at how far we got with that? What if we'd saved time and energy on the always futile RVP chase, and focussed it on JoJo, would we not be better placed to get a breakthrough there? It's all well and good, when we sit exasperated and throw our hands in the air and blame the poor condition the league is in. But don't ever forget, our outlook at this time is just as important, and for better or worse, it all comes down to priorities.

You're taking rumours as facts.

Fact is that we don't know how much time Marotta did or did not spend chasing RVP. That's if he chased him at all.

Only a week ago we read the rumour that we haven't been interested in RVP since the beginning of July. Why not believe that instead?
