I think that transfers can't be compared like this. Then even Vidal is overpaid when Sahin was paid 2,5 millions less, or Krasic is totally disastrous transfer when Real got Ozil for the same price... etc.

Yeah, I mean, it's great to buy Martinez and play him out of position after paying 12mln for him. Bonucci was always average... we bought the potential he never fulfilled, so yeah, it was a stupid move in the end. It's not players fault we paid so much for him anyway.

Then just take Pjanic as an example. Ozil's and Sahin's contract were on their last year, hence the low price... just like Vidal's. And Sahin is not a much better buy than Vidal IMO.

Giovinco had many goals and assists while playing at Juve. Whenever he got his chance he did something, unlike Pepe. Pepe is a winger who contributes nothing but a hardwork. We paid 10mln for hardwork... or in other words brainless running. It's not about skillful players, it's about assists and goals that Pepe didn't provide at Udinese, but Giovinco did at Juve even when he played as a winger and not a SS.

He's also underselling players though and that in conjunction with the misallocation of funds (albeit only on a handful of players) is even more detrimental to the club. I'm fairly sure if he were less complacent with the selling of players, we would have a better squad than we currently do.

The rest is subjective. The irony being that last season Pepe was required to play a different role than what suits Giovinco, yet this season Giovinco would have fit in much better. Pepe does have his strengths that balance out the side from being too lopsided, but there are also several games where playing 4 attackers suits, and this doesn't fit for Pepe.

Still, my initial point was only about values. If someone says that money could have been better spent I won't disagree.

Its not like Amauri isn't sellable after he performed at Parma. A good GM would have gotten the job done. I'm not saying Iaquinta is an easy sale to make but considering how useless he is to us, selling him (or getting him off the squad list in any way possible) should have been a priority but it seems that Marotta ignored those priorities. Look how big our list of strikers is, you can only blame poor management for that.

I'm not really sure what else he could have done. He said he made it clear from the start (to Amauri) that he wasn't needed by the club or coach, and found several clubs willing to take him, yet he didn't want to leave. And now apparently, the player is training with the youth team.
