If Wenger signs young players, Benitez signs Spaniards, Real sign galacticos and City spend a lot of money, Marotta signs slightly above average players from smaller Serie A teams in hope that they could take the next step and blossom with Juventus. This is how Marotta's philosophy is. We just have to deal with it.

no that was irony....

its is a hard job to convince the best players in the world to join juve, dont fool you self into thinking otherwise
thats my point. use your brain, it might help...
There is such a massive difference between the "best players in the world", and the players we've brought into the club in the past couple of years. There is plenty of gradation on a scale like thise, and we have simply not operated high enough up the scale. "dont fool you self into thinking otherwise"

We've overpaid for mediocre players, and consistently bought/loaned players who simply aren't accomplished enough for a club of this stature. The jersey weighs heavily, and this club needs stability; 20 or so 'new' arrivals at a club over a period of approximately 450 days, is fucking insanity.

You make it sound as though Juventus has lost all of its allure. Meanwhile, we're opening a new stadium, and it's become apparent to anyone with half a brain that we got bumrushed in the calciopoli debacle. We don't have CL right now, but this is still an attractive destination for many high quality players. Buying quality also makes the club more attractive to players.

I'm shocked that anyone, when looking at the past 3 windows and the sheer volume of new players that have arrived, would consider this a good way to operate a club like Juventus.

somehow calciopoli is supposed to justify accepting and tolerating mediocrity, we have the most clueless owner in serie A unfortunately.

Absolutely. The crazy thing is that we're operating with a solid budget.

I understand that people want to try and be positive fans, because in this modern day, in this media driven environment the players really do read and hear everything, they're certainly affected by all of the negativity. But one can't be delusional about it - there has to be more objectivity. Support the players on the pitch - always support your team - but you don't have to support Marotta.

There comes a point where, when you're looking at our transfer strategy, one just has to shake their fucking head, and call a spade a spade. There's been way too many poor decisions, too many blatant mistakes not to.

You know, Matt.

Your energy could be better spent on other things.

Such as how the 49ers have Alex Smith as the starting quarterback for the 7th season in a row.

Fuck, brother, I know it. I have really liked all of the Harbaugh pressers I've seen, etc. I think we finally found a top notch coach, Serg.

The past couple of years I've just gotten so wound up during the last week or so of our Mercatos. The potential of me spending another year waking up at 5:45am, Sunday morning, for the majority of our games, to watch this club get punked by the Chievo's of the world just rubs me so wrong. :D

And all of these Juventus fans here think that they have seen mediocrity :howler:

Look up mediocrity in the dictionary, and it says See: Alex Smith

I really think this guy should only get till december if things are not going our way we should get rid of him then
If he's not taken out by a rabid fan first. Thank god he wasn't given a seccoesque term on his contract.

Who, Alex Smith? I give him until week 5.
Kap definitely has a rocket. I've struggle through some of that preseason material; the raw tools are definitely there.

And all of these Juventus fans here think that they have seen mediocrity :howler:

Truer words were never spoken. The 49ers of the past decade have been the embodiment of dysfunction. Jeez. I support the Raps, used to support the Athletics when I could tolerate watching baseball, and then there's the 9. Most Juve fans just don't realize how spoiled they've been.

:p

Anyone else feel like the plan is to start the new season with Krasic, Giacherinni, Pepe and Estagarriba as our wingers?

I have to say that is massively disappointing for a team that plans to use a formation reliant on wing play.

Thanks for the "champions" you chump.

I'm a raps STH. Nothing like a fan base booing their most successful player.

Not gonna happen, we'll have 5 wingers in the squad 100%. Pasquato will remain and if Pepe leaves we are getting another winger. Just hope it's someone proven like Malouda and not overrated garbage like Perotti.

Worst case:
Estragarriba, Pasquato, Perotti, Krasic, Giaccherini

Bad but not the worst:
Estragarriba, Pasquato, Pepe, Krasic, Giaccherini

Solid case:
Estragarriba, Pasquato, Malouda(or some player near his level), Krasic, Giaccherini
