A very good friend of mine from Firenze, who has his sources, tells me that Marotta agreed to Corvino's wish of giving Viola Quagliarella PLUS money for Vargas. Which is insane. The deal did not go through because Conte wants to keep Quagliarella. He also informs me of rumours that Conte and Marotta does not have a good relationship at the moment. Conte is not a yesman, he has clear ideas and want to win. Marotta is only able to give him lesser "copies" of the players he has asked for.

Whether or not there's any truth to this, who knows. But for those of you who may find it interesting, there it is.

That's may be true. Earlier some stories regarding this popped up.

Yeah, that's why I decided to post these rumours as well, because it's not the first time I hear them.

Well:

Conte wanted Vidal, Licht, Pazzigoal and Vucinic. Marotta brought all four for him. Ziegler and Pirlo were done already I think.
