Del Piero rues Coppa exit
Regret will be haunting Juventus this morning after last night’s Coppa Italia defeat, Alessandro Del Piero has intimated.
The Old Lady were knocked out of the competition on Thursday when Roma arrived in town and took home a 2-0 victory.
“We are obviously upset and we leave this match hugely disappointed,” Del Piero noted. “We played at home and it was a good opportunity to go through to the next round, but we didn’t take it.”
Juventus have had a tough start to 2011, winning two, drawing one and losing three games since the beginning of the year.
“We need to live this moment, reflect, think it over and try to amass all our energy to bring it out on the pitch against Udinese [on Sunday],” Del Piero added.
“We also hope that Amauri, Simone Pepe and Marco Motta, who tonight were forced to go off, have no serious injury problems.”
Del Piero also commented on his penalty shout where he fell under a challenge from Philippe Mexes.
“For me it was a penalty and it would have changed the game,” the Italian noted.
“But our game could have also been changed by taking advantage of so many free-kicks and crosses delivered into the box, but we failed to make the most of such opportunities.”

That's because our strikers blow and are completely useless. But let's go ahead and ignore this problem and get a replacement for Sissoko and buy more defenders.
Nedved hinted it, Del Piero just said it, we see it with our own eyes...wake up people, we need a striker MUCH MUCH more than full backs.
