Have you bothered to read what I wrote after? Yes, I want the team to do badly this year (Europa League finish) if that will help kick start a positive revolution, instead of having a limited nationalistic person dictating the transfer strategies of the club. Obviously the only way to achieve this is to do badly, I wish there was some other way, but it took a CL less season to sack the past board, so it should take the same.

You know what? If you want to believe I hate Del Piero, fine whatever, but there is a logic to what I'm saying, having better management would be worth having a bad season, that's what I'm saying. Not to mention, with the players we have, it's hopeless to get a CL spot.

What is the alternative? That Marotta will somehow relent on his hardon for Italians? That limited players like Pepe, Motta, Martinez and Quag will take the club forward? That selling quality like Diego is the way to go? Relying on injury prone players like Aquilani just because he's Italian? Is that the type of director of sport you want?

It'd be the same amount of money we had this season, and Marotta managed to buy 11 players. Eleven!! I reckon we could get 2 or 3 world class players and a better coach to be competitive again.

As a specialist in knee-jerking and obviousness, I feel qualified enough to say that Marrotta & co need to time to be proven right / wrong. In the mean time I think we should merely support the team and the directors. I may not agree with the moves made but this is what we have got to deal with.

We are after all Juve fans, therefore some patience and humility is required...we are not Inter Merda.

We'll limp along if we keep Marotta as a transfer "guru", that's my main concern so I would like him out ASAP and in any way possible. It's a bit Machiavellian and I could have worded it better, but I don't think we'll do well anyway. If I'm wrong and this group without quality qualifies for the CL or even more unthinkable, win a trophy,I'll be happy to be proven wrong.

BTW, aren't there supposed to be infractions for insulting other people?

i didn't like Marotta's moves in the market this summer but the last thing we need is another disastrous season this year.

Things will get reaaaaaally ugly if we did have another season like last. IMO we won't recover from that situation for loong time.

Look, what I'm saying might be a little misguided, but I want Juve to be great again, and people like Marotta is not going to help us get there. I take it back, I was upset and looked for any way to get rid of him but you're right that another CL less season could be disastrous...I don't think we'll get it though.

Del Piero will score a few free kicks, Amauri will get about 10 goals, Iaquinta will huff and puff and get 8 goals, Aquilani will be sidelined half the season, Marchisio will be a ghost like he has been recently, Krasic too isolated to do anything and we'll be where we were here next year, just with less money, Martinez will prove to be useless and Quag will do 5 or 6 flashy goals and fade away. I hate it, but I can't see how it'll end up differently.

how exactly do you bring 2 "world class players" to a team that cant offer wages above 4mil/year, isnt in the champions league, and has about 15mil to spend on each of those 3 transferwise ?

pure financially, marotta did a pretty good job

as for the team, wel we got all positions covered, some by players who got hunger and potential and spirit.

yeah, i wanted to see a krasic-macherano-aqua/march/-gourcuff midfield behind a sergio aguero - dzeko attack
but wel, its not possibale for the comming 2 years, so i'll wait and support the team on its path towards glory :flag1:

Like I said, I was upset at Diego's news today, so I typed what I typed. I agree having another disastrous season could be terrible in the long term. I just wish we had the team and management for a successful season.

I'm sick of pulling my hair over every move Beppe made. Everyone forgets the high salary this team had and the loads of dead weight he had to get rid of. Right now it doesn't look perfect but Patience is the key. Give him a couple of seasons at least

What 2 or 3 world class players would you have bought with the money we had?

As far as I can see, we needed at least 3 players in defence alone, so your world class players wouldn't really go that far.

Also wishing for the team to lose because you feel that Marotta hasn't done a good job kinda just makes it look like your considering yourself to be an expert in this kind of thing, which, imo, you really don't seem to be.

I personally feel that at the end of the season it'l be much easier to see how well Marotta's transfer's have gone, rather than wishing for them to fail before they get a chance.


Personally, I feel he's done a good job with transfers. He's bought players we need for the system, unlike Secoo who just bought whoever he thought looked good at the time. He's given them a decent wage, rather than just throwing money at them to get the to play like Poulsen. And he's got rid of the players with a high wage, or those who were earning too much for the amount they could contribute to a season, like Camo or Trez.

Sure, there hasn't been all the superstar names that we all wanted, but there were too many holes that needed filling. We have the basis for a good team, especially who's main ambition is to qualify for the champions league and nothing more. If we succeed in that, then we can buy our 2-3 world class players and the team would be incredibly strong. Imagine signing a world class lb, lw and cf next season and the team starts to look like it could be challenging for the Scudetto.

Judging from what I've read, alot of you will probably paint me with the overly optimistic brush, I personally just feel I'm being realistic about the strength of the players and the team for our aims. Sure flashy world class players would have been nice, would have probably sold more shirts, but the players we bought were players we needed to buy to fill the weak spots left by the previous management.
