Maybe I'm being overly optimistic, as it is my right to be, just as everyone else has every reason to feel as if the sky is falling.
I see a team right now, that if things fall into place can certainly contend for a CL spot, and do well in the Europa league. I see a team that is younger, more athletic, and grittier than last year's model.
I see a team that, if these goals can be accomplished with the team as is, can add a world class player or two with the addition of the revenue from the Champions league next year.
I see the pieces gradually falling into place as the season progresses, and this unit becoming more cohesive.
Again, I might be overly optimistic, but I don't see the gloom and doom as so many have predicted.
And in the end, if I'm wrong, then so be it. Won't be the first time.

With the exception of that Danish (?) kid we bought and Traore, I know all the newcomers very well, followed them in every serie A season they played and I can't share your optimism. I fear of what I think is a huge possibility, missing the CL again and being forced to another weak mercato, simply because the huge majority of the newcomers are nothing more than average players.

just came back from holidays...can't belive he really sold diego...and for that cheap price... did he really sold diego and trez to get us the quag................ can't belive he sold diego trez and camo....but thank god we still have dp to save our asses again....
but he had to sign quag cause he can score goals out of 30 meters...so he needs nobody to create a chance....that was smart....

This is my first post, I have followed this forum a bit. I don't really agree with most of you here. I think Marotta did the best he could on this marcato, and I think he did a really good job. Selling players we really don't need anymore. We still got Braco,grygera and grosso we need to get rid of and then I'm sadicfide.
And i think the signings of Krasic,Aquilani,Bonnuci,Motta,Pepe,lanzafame and Quagriella is very good. I don't wanna say anything about Martinez and Armand because I haven't seen them play that much. He's trying to build a new team. And We all have to realize that we don't play CL and we can't get the best players out there. I think he did a great job and he have gotten uss a great fundation for the future.
I trust in this new juve and i'm sure we will end up top 4 this season and maybe even suprise Milan and Inter.
I see most of you are pissed off because he sold diego and don't get me wrong I really liked diego but lets face it his game play didn't suit us. His not productiv dribbling and falling to eazy. He didn't do much for uss last season and I'm pretty sure he wouldn't do anything this season. The defenders in Seria A read him to eazy. German league is more eazy and less good teams.
The dram for me was to get pazzini or dzeko and we would have hade a really good squad but you can't have everything. Maybe next summer. But I think this team will make it to top 4 without any problems. The first game against bari didn't show the potential this team have. I'm sure we will see a juventus we all can be proud of and the players will do thir best.

It's not eazy to get world class players when you don't play CL. And we are not as atractive as club like we once were. And Serie A have been to long in the shadow of PL and La liga. But we will come back again and be the top. It's good that Inter won CL last season for serie A. That atracts more and more players to our league.
You can't in this moment go out and buy top players. When you build a hous first you have to lay a foundation then build a roof take it eazy. Last managment screwd juve up to much. We did the misstake when we came back from serie B and we didn't try to start to build a new team. We realied to much on our old legends. It takes time to come back from the shit hole were "the beloved moggi put uss" Yes he had some good transfers but juve and seria A was the greatest league back then. And he screwd it upp. When we got relegated serie A lost thir credibility and we lost alot of players and were forced to serie B. And yes Moratti and the others are thifs to but moggi is the only stupid one to get cought. Don't play the game if you can't handel it. So thats why I think it's moggis foult that we are in this possition.

Yes thats true. But atleast we can move on now and don't have to have them in the squad. Taking money for sitting on the bench. I reaspect players who leave them self when they see that they are no longer in the plan for next season. But thats not the fact with this players. Trez and camo are legends in juve and my favorites but I would have respected them even more if they said we will leave for the best of this club. They found new clubs very eazy it's not like they would go broke if they did leave on thir own. But hey just my oppinion

Sometimes I fail to understand how Marotta won the sperm race? The biggest problem is not his investment in youth, as most people understand the (necessary) gamble you take with youth but, it's the investment in dead wood and players that simply aren't of a Juve standard that is upsetting.
I realise that we have taken a big hit post calciopolli and that we're not playing CL this season but the aura of Juventus must continue to be preserved. Another season like this and the "great" Juventus will be nothing more than a memory and we'll be cheering CL qualification as a success like Tottenham. I know Milan went through tough times in the early 80's and managed to comeback to be a major force in world football (and I'm not suggesting that we're heading down that path at this stage) but these days without billionaire investors it's very hard to get back to the top after prolonged period in the mid-table.
