Palermo: Sirigu - Balzaretti - Bovo - Goian - Cassani - Nocerino - Liverani - Migliaccio - Pastore - Miccoli - Maccarone - Coach: Delio Rossi.

Napoli: De Sanctis - Campagnaro - Cannavaro - Aronica - Hamsik - Gargano - Maggio - Dossena - Sosa - Lavezzi - Cavani - Coach: Mazzarri.

Genoa: Eduardo - Moretti - Bocchetti - Rafinha - Kharja - Criscito - Rossi- Mesto - Palacio - Palladino - Toni - Coach: Gasperini.

Parma: Mirante - Zenoni- Lucarelli - Antonelli - Zaccardo - Morrone - Budel - Dzemaili - Giovinco - Paloschi - Bojinov - Coach: Marino.

Would you want any of those squads to be Juve's? Or in fact, how many of those players and coaches would you want at Juve? Balzaretti, Nocerino, Miccoli, Moretti, Criscito, Palladino, Mirante and Bojinov are our rejects. Would you want them back?

Migliaccio, Cassani, Bovo, Maggio, Dossena, Bocchetti, Antonelli, Paloschi are all Italian so called overrated players. I can imagine the reactions here if our team had decided to sign any of them.

Goian, Campagnaro, Sosa, Rossi, Budel, Dzemaili, Khraja? You'd want them?

Liverani, De Sanctis, Cannavaro, Maccarone, Aronica, Mesto, Toni, Rossi, Zaccardo, Zenoni, Morrone? Seriously?

Cavani, Gargano, Rafinha, Palacio? Are they any better than the "mediocre" players we have in our team? Or Delio Rossi, Gasperini, Marino, Mazzarri instead of Del Neri?

So Pastore, Hamsik, Lavezzi. 3 players from 4 teams. And because of them you think we are bound to finish behind them? We are not in the CL, we must focus on the league games and we are (more than) good enough to get a CL spot. It wouldn't be easy of course but even with this team, as limited and mediocre as it seems, we are still much better than our rivals for a CL spot. With the CL money hopefully, we will bring in better players.

Classy post! Gives me hope :)

You forgot a few players in there, including Veloso for Genoa and Galloppa for Parma.

I would certainly take Rafinha or Palacio here as well, they're better than some of our signings.

Overall, I agree those teams don't have more talent than we do. But even if that's the case, we can still finish below them. Last season is enough to prove you wrong on that. The squad may seem good enough to get a CL spot, but that doesn't mean shit. It's a team sport and replacing good talent with mediocre players isn't acceptable, won't get us anywhere.
Of course we can. Point is that why should we already start moaning about the market even though we still have a better squad than those who are competing for a CL place? I'm not worried, the more our players play within a team the better we become and that would be enough for us to qualify for the CL. Funny that you mention the last season failure. You also call Sampdoria' success a fluke which basically indicates that our failure last season was a fluke as well. I'm confident that our squad now has more depth, is younger, more energetic and athletic and Del Neri is a better coach then Ciro and Zac.

Hope for what? We have realized that we're stronger than Livorno and Parma.

Woopty fucking doo.

Try to compare us with Inter, Milan, Barcelona, Real, Manchester, Chelsea or some other club.
Stronger than most of the teams in Serie A, don't exaggerate. Do those others all play in Serie A then? Or the Europa League?

kick Marotta out, some how i feel Sicco was better
at least he brought us heavy weight players like Diego, Melo and sissoko
the only problem with sicco that he pays more than he should
and the Blanc was controling him , so he was a toy more than a manager,
we could see that from the coaches we brought,
we kicked deschamps out, and brought 3 losers.
with last year squad i thought we could reach far, but we only needed a good coach.

anyway, i really dont know why brought marotta, while we could have this guy,
and he is free.

this guy is the real guru, look to his eyes, a real fox.

You really think anyone could get us on par with them in 1 offseason? come on man. We're not even the CL.

Two of those teams play in Serie A, and Man City and Liverpool play in the Europa League. You're still weaker than those 4, 5 if you want to include Roma.

Our objective in this season is only getting a CL place for the next season. Going far in the EL is a bonus. And for that, we have to compete with the likes of "Livorno and Parma". No one would hear what our fans say in these forums but I really hope that our other fans, those who go to the stadiums, will be a little bit more patient than you are.

Fiorentina will give you a run for your money when they recover Mutu and Jovetic.
True and clearly having a stronger team than an opponent on paper is not a guarantee of anything, something fans of all the big Serie A clubs know. However so many comments on this forum are about what great signings the other teams are making, and how much better than Juve they are on paper. When you look at it, it's nonsense, false. There isn't loads in it, we aren't flush with mega talent, but there is enough there for us to be optimistic that with a coherent team we will be ok, if that ever takes anyones fancy anytime soon.

Because the players we brought in are average while we let go of a couple players who could have made a difference. Quag, Pepe and Martinez are not better than Diego and Seba, Aquilani is only available for half the season, Bonucci is good but Motta isn't solid enough defensively, and only Krasic appears to be a solid player. What should I get hopeful about? Why should I think we'll do better than last season with no improvement in personnel and no improvement in the manager?

I don't know how else to spell it out to you folks who live in fairy tale land.

But alright, I'll run around claiming there is hope and we'll get our CL spot and then win Serie A and the CL and we'll sign Messi and all sorts of other great players and everything is fucking great.

I would seriously debate Liverpool for a start, and also Roma on paper. But anyway, that wasn't what I responded to, the teams and players originally listed were.

I would say Juventus and Fiorentina's squads are quite similar. although Fiorentina has a couple match winning players.

Liverpool's 2 WC players would give them the edge in a close encounter, which is something Juventus sadly, doesn't have.

Roma is better than Juve on paper, their defense being their weak link but then again Juventus defence is not as solid as some people here would make you believe.

Well we did improve RB, CB, RM, CM, LM and SS. We lost a good AMC and we lost Giovinco.

I don't know how you can say we haven't improved. Even if we're not a fantastic team yet we've still improved and on paper (I know, I know.. but what else can Marotta do than put together teams on paper) we should be a top 4 team. You can't say the same about last year.
