See thats where you are wrong. We shouldn't be aiming for the Scudetto, we should first and foremost be aiming to build a team which can competitive. You can't put in 5 new players and buy the Scudetto. No matter who you buy the chances of silverware in the first season with new players is quite slim. Once we have a working team we can bolster the team with champions to bring that Scudetto. Its important for us to learn to walk again before we decide to run.
Very very true.

Look at Real Madrid, they bought Cristiano Ronaldo and Kaka. Just imagine them playing together....
Look at the player they sold, Sneijder and Robben playing each other in UCL Final.

With our purchase so far, I feel we have improvement in some area. Bonucci is compliment for Chiellini.

Motta is talented and still can improve, already an improve for RB.

Storari, necessary buy because of Buffon injury.

Martinez and Pepe , add width for Del Neri's 4-4-2

Moggi should fuck off and pay more attention to his trial if he truely cares about Juve. It's the only thing he could do good for this club and he fuckin owe us that much.

What I dont get about Marotta is how he can sign Cassano and Pazzini at Samp, 2 quality players who would easily be able to play at Juve yet when he gets a big time budget and job at Juve he only can bring in Pepe, Martiinez ...

He should at least be competing for elite level players .. If he can bring Cassano from Real Madrid to Samp .. I would expect him to be able to get Aguero from Atleti to Juve or something. Even if he could have brought Cassano with him it would have been great.

Cassano and Pazzo didn't exactly come as champs to 'doria and they certainly didn't arrive together at the club but rather a season and a half between the two IIRC.

Aye.

You can't always force great deals to happen.

You just have to be ready to take advantage when circumstances allow.

but what Moggi's saying is 100% correct....
He's saying the obvious. Who the fuck here doesn't know that both Martinez and Pepe are not a Scudetto material players?! Who the fuck doesn't know that Juve with their name must be aiming for just that and nothing less. But guess what, it's because of this clown that we're suffering right now and have been so for the last 3-4 seasons. And what does he do? He fills the press with his usual fuckin obvious talking and bashing(he hasn't started the later yet for this season but I bet he will if the new management fails like the previous one did) just for the fans to regard him as an all-knowing while he's nothing close to that.

Well there are plenty of really good players who are having tough times at their clubs or would be available to buy ... Joe Cole, Robinho, Ireland, Hleb, Benzema, VDV, Drenthe, Maxwell. Like you could easily build an excellent team out of players who would not command massive transfer fees.

We could have bought Drenthe for less then we bought Pepe and VDV for about the same. I dont understand why we would not go for the elite players and settle for second rate. That is my complaint with Marotta. He is building a dream Samp and not a realistic Juventus. But I will hope he can fix the situation and prove himself by the time the transfer market is closed.

Regardless of whether our signings appear presently as 'scudetto material', they have strengthened our squad. It would be better to accept that our squad last season was nowhere near scudetto material. Neither was our management, or president.

What I am looking for, as always, is PROGRESS. And the transfers so far, seem like progress to me. Camo had to be culled. He was costing us a huge amount of money, and hardly ever played. When he DID manage to play, he was nowhere near the force he once was. Our team lacked width last season, not only due to tactical choices of ferrara and Zacheroni, but due to the haggard state of Camo, the constant fear preventing Giovinco's chance to shine, and who else do we have, who can play on the wings???? Sali???? We NEEDED wide players. We have Pepe, who I am certain will prove much more useful than Camo of last season, and who knows, maybe he could become our new di livio...Martinez showed wonderful form in the latter part of last season, at a club which is definitely far behind us in terms of overall talent. What's to say he can't continue that form with us, when supported by better players???? What I like about him mainly is that he seems to enjoy rising to the occasion. It makes me think the greater the challenge, the more he relishes taking part, testing himself. Pepe's attitude also, seems spirited. Indeed he is more industrious than creative...but...we needed wide players. we needed an injection of spirit. Those two have helped us on those counts. We may well be still in the hunt for Krasic, and I assume that Del Neri is willing to give giovinco a chance to become one of the four wide players needed...two starters, and two challenging them from the bench.

Our right back situation has been shocking for a long time. With only grygera goblin ever showing me a sense of competence. Motta has shown great promise in the past, represented his country at several levels since his youth, and remains young enough to improve much more. He isn't going to cost us much, and even if he doesn't become amazing, he is a definite improvement on what we have had to put up with in that position for several seasons. Add to his arrival the purchase of Bonucci, who along with ranocchia, appeared very much like a real contender to become a fine player. Again, we needed reinforcements at centreback...and grabbed one of the brightest prospects in Italy. I assume, that we will still be looking for an experienced centreback, to add to the Bonnucci, chiellini, legro mix. Two starters, two challengers from the bench.

You can look at last season and blame our demise on the management, and on injuries...but its wiser and more accurate to add to the list of culprits : a squad in dire need of strengthening on the flanks, both in midfield and defence and in the middle of the back line.

Has marotta not already strengthened LW/RW/RB/CB????

All that is left to make me satisfied is a Left Back, additional experienced quality centre back...and perhaps finally, some readjustment or replacements in attack. I hope that Amauri can be sold. Trez can stay, if his body is going to hold out for another season. Iaquinta, whilst lacking intelligence on the field, has wonderful determination....still, we would ALL be happy if we grabbed Dzeko, though it seems more likely we will plump for Krasic.

Essentially, I see Marotta as doing a decent job. He has improved us already, and we must all bear in mind, that its very hard to transfer top players during the world cup...so who knows what our new transfer mogul has up his sleeve. He strikes me as a man who keeps his cards close to his chest.

Forza Marotta. Forza Juve.

Joe Cole - Huge wages and almost certainly won't leave England.
Robinho - Talented player who has the mental are physical strength of a three year old girl.
Ireland - A prick, and won't leave Enlgand.
Hleb - Never liked him. I'd rather have Pepe.
Benzema - Astronomically high wages.
VDV - Interesting player, but wouldn't really fit at Juve. Injury prone.
Drenthe - Mediocre. Did well in U21 tournament and has shown nothing much since.
Maxwell - Good player. I don't see that he is available.

Keep listing players, though.

I already feel better about Juve's signings than I did before you posted that list.

I want us to fight for the scudetto even if not winning it
If Roma could trouble Inter a bit I think we could too but in order for this to happen we need to build a strong side
Lets say with this team the best case scenario is 3rd or 4th place 3rd if Milan troumbles 4th if not
The worst case is being 7th again
we're gonna win a Scudetto mate...
