It is now obvious that he is after a CB and either Krasic or Dzeko, that means Del Neri will fix his Formation depending on who Marotta signs,if Marotta sign Krasic he will likely play 4-2-3-1 but if Dzeko is signed it will be his favorite 4-4-2.

But my Q is what about LB,i think we need a new one,is Del Neri satisfied with Grosso or De Ceglie?
I dont think we are going to get a new LB.
Del Neri is going to play a 4-4-2 and the wide backs dont need to support the attack as much and De Ceglie said in a interview that Del Neri told them to focus on defence (him and Motta).
I think Grosso/De Ceglie can do a decent jod if not asked to do both.

If he decides to go with 4-2-3-1 however, we are in deep shit.

I'm concerned though;

We are looking at this team right now

Storari
Motta Bonucci Chiellini De Ceglie
Pepe Melo Marchisio Martinez
Diego
Trezeguet

I like the defence a lot, apart from De Ceglie. More importantly though; Who the hell is going to create play? If last season showed us anything; Diego cant do it by himself. The midfield is very stale and still not that fast. Marchisio and Melo cant dictate the pace of the game, they are horizontal players really. Nor will be able to play on the counter this way, it will take far too long for the ball to go to the front from the defence. These midfielders need to many touches on the ball. Martinez tends to play for himself and go for the goal, while Pepe is there for the quantity. Shame there is little quality to compliment his quantity.

That and the large amount of selling to do.. Much work to be done yet for Marotta. Squad ready by the end of july? I doubt it.

Krasic and Giovinco would improve it yes. both are moment footballers, but at least Krasic has pace and attacks space, while Giovinco has the ability to create and pass and move with a few touches needed.

If De Ceglie really said that, then i have to say that i really admire Del Neri's idea in this point.

But the fact is neither De Ceglie nor Grosso knows how to defend,n this way we are in deep shit if we don't get someone who is good defensively.

Just imagine we are playing aginst Barca with messi in their right wing n Grosso is in our left flank:snoop: what will happen?

I do have feeling the same. We won't buy anybody before we sell. Look at our LB department we already have 3 players: DC, Grosso, and Brazzo who can play there also. And looks like Marotta have problem to sell Grosso when Grosso reject Atletico offers. So that's the possibility we won't buy LB and stick with DC and Grosso.

The same case actually apply for Dzeko (striker), Krasic (right winger), or CM. At forward department we already have 3 players Trez, Amauri, IQ. We at least must sell 1 before buy, and should sell 2 of our forwards. With Trez latest u-turn, and no actual interest to Amauri and IQ, we won't buy forwards.. Krasic situation is the same because it look like Camo can stay after the deal with Olympiakos failed. And on CM we at least need to sell 2 (Tiago, Poulsen or even Momo). The possible signing can be on CB which we only have 3 CBs - plus several primavera CBs

So i can say it will be quiet signing period for us.

Yeah I was discussing that in the Camo thread yesterday.

Guys like Camo and Trez shouldn't even try to be sold at this point. To me, it's disrespectful. They both gave and sacrificed just as much as any of our other 'champions' who went down with us. And now we're trying to offload them with one year to go. Bit late for that.

We shouldn't now, with one year left on their contracts, treat them like unwanted step-children. Let them stay, and give them a proper sending off at the end of the season.
