what wrong with what he said?

because as long as he didn't say we want to win with 11 italians playing on the field you and everyone else needs to stfu and see how everything pans out, instead of gossping like a bunch of whiny schoolgirls.

Here is the whole interview:

Marotta outlines his Juve plan Monday 28 June, 2010

Juventus' new director general Beppe Marotta has outlined his vision for the club, which will be young and Italian.

Marotta has been given the task of rebuilding Juventus after their disastrous campaign last season.

Interviewed in this morning's La Gazzetta dello Sport, Marotta was asked to reveal who has settled him in to life in Turin.

“The President above all,” he said. “Andrea Agnelli is young, but he has been around football since he was a young lad, that is since he started coming to watch Juventus together with his father and his uncle. The return of an Agnelli is a sign that the club believes in the project.

“The greatness of the club is not only granted by the technical level of the players. Spending is not enough to have success. The added value comes from the culture that the club transmits to individuals: the sense of belonging, the spirit of competition and the desire to always improve oneself.

“Once that is obtained, you also derive discipline. And you'll see that Del Neri is the right man in the right place. We are working to prepare of a competitive team, but we need patience. Never lose sight of the financial parameters, and after the cyclone that was Calciopoli, it would be tough for anyone to re-emerge.”

When asked to reveal how he will rebuild Juventus, Marotta said: “Above all, by continuing to invest in youngsters and it's better if they are Italian. Juventus has always been the reservoir for the national team and we want to continue to be so.

“Among the President's first considerations was the attention to the academy, a job that I have taken willingly.”

'Krasic deal isn't dead'
Monday 28 June, 2010
Juventus director general Beppe Marotta insists that a deal for CSKA Moscow winger Milos Krasic isn't dead.

Talks for the Serbia international stalled earlier this month when Juventus and CSKA couldn't agree upon a fee.

Speaking to Radio Anch'io lo Sport, Marotta said: “The sun hasn't definitively set on a deal, but for the moment we have turned to Martinez who is an important player anyway.

“If CSKA review their demands then we could speak about Krasic again,” he concluded.

Earlier in the day, Marotta appeared less optimistic about the prospect of Krasic moving to Turin.

Interviewed in La Gazzetta dello Sport, he said: “We have made our offer to CSKA who didn't accept it. Then we went down another path, the latest being that of Lanzafame.”

Why is it better if the players are Italian?

"Young players, and it's better if they're Italian". Why not "Young players and it's better if they're quality players"?

Stupid, idiotic, racist identity. I want quality, not race. What's next, we do an Athletic Bilbao and buy only players from Piemonte? We stop buying foreigners? We stop buying black players?

The Italian players are even more expensive when an Italian team is buying them so I don't see what's the advantage here. If Bonucci was from Paraguay and playing in Paraguay, he'd have cost us 2-3 million instead of 14 million. Better invest some money in scouting instead of overpaying for Italian youngsters.

Juventus has always been a club with a strong Italian identity, much less a Turin or Piemonte identity.

Marotta is most likely only making sure that we continue on that same path. I don't see what's wrong with that to be honest.

It pleases the fanboys though. Ask giovanotti on who he would prefer between Bonucci and Vidic.

I'm with Alen on this. I'd take Ozil over Giovinco any day of the week right along with Dzeko over Pazzini/Gila combined.

Better if they're Italian, but if they aren't available or good enough then we aren't going to buy them...we will buy foreign players for those positions.

Racist? What nonsense, he doesn't exclude foreign players at all. We're talking about something that makes Juve special here, why it is 'la fidanzata d'Italia'. International fans might not care anything about the identity of the club, but really, it doesn't matter one bit.

You make it sound as if a youngster from South America could come straight to Italy and be at home with the football and environment as if he is an Italian who has lived and played there all his life, because he might be the same technical level as another player?

There is nothing he says which suggests we are going to take mediocre Italians over better foreign examples, it'll be the same mix that the club used to take before Calciopoli. Making top quality foreign signings - finances allowing - and looking to the youth system as well as standout young Italians who look like they can make an impact now and in the future. In this sense the signing of Bonucci is similar to that of a Zambrotta.

That's a no brainer but Azzurri fanboys always think that young Italian players are far better than the others.
