If it's all about money, why is he even credited for the team's success? He bought when the money was available, he didn't buy when money wasn't available. Everyone would be able to do that job.

Let's assume that Marotta is able to get one of Higuain and Jovetic, and they fail miserably. Who is to blame?
Conversely, if either one of them prove to be smashing success, who gets the credit?

Lots of damage may be a bit far fetched, but I agree that he made mistakes. He also did some decent moves too. Some even great. His biggest mistake so far was not to get that great striker last Summer.
All in all, considering what we achieved in the last 2 seasons, he did well overall. This Summer is make or break for him though. If he'll manage to get another good attacker with Llorente and replace Asamoah, I'd extend his contract if I were Agnelli.

I am sure a lot more people would be more inclined to appreciate Marotta if there were more balanced members supporting him (X, Sergio, and to a certain extent Klin; can't believe I am mentioning him )However, the daily praise and need to defend him @ every opportunity on a daily basis makes it that much easier to dislike the man and vent.
